I enjoyed her class and her teaching. I wouldn't expect her to be anything other than a teacher of modern dance. Simultaneously, she values writing maybe more highly than she should. With that said, if you follow her corrections and attend regularly you should do well.

Ella only cares about modern and nothing else, not a good dancer at all. i have been dancing for a few years and am better than her. I came here a dance major and after a semester i have decided to transfer

Ella is a little spacey when it comes to yoga, but she teaches it well and doesn't care exactly how you do it as long as you are trying. She's also the only teacher I know that has encouraged falling asleep and "passing wind" (her words) in class. In other words, a good teacher who you can really learn from.

Ella is a great teacher, but if you don't try and LISTEN to what she says than you can fully expect a bad grade. As stated on the syllabus, if you miss class you will be expected to write a paper, and more than 3 classes you will drop grades. If you listen to her, she's pretty great!
