I really enjoyed taking chemistry with Dr. Van Caemelbecke! He taught off of his powerpoints but was great about answering questions and having practice problems. He had study guides for every chapter and exam which helped a lot! He is a bit soft-spoken with an accent but I sat in the front and I was fine. I would take a class with him again!

His lecture is basically the test. He offers no extra credit. Your grade is your exam average. Hell ask you random minute details from his lecture on the test. So make sure you pay attention AND COME TO CLASS PREPARED. Read slides ahead. The little booklet he requires you to buy is useless, the textbook was also useless in this class.

I think Dr. V is a great professor. He does have a strong accent and can be a bit monotoned but I never had a problem understanding him. He always gives study guides for the tests and works out the homework/reviews before tests. I always did the study guides and reviewed a little before the tests and did fine. Not too difficult in my opinion.

The key to his class is to repeatedly do the practice questions on the PPTs and the homework. If you don't understand something on those problems i HIGHLY recommend to go to his office. He may seem strict in class but the dude is a different person in his office. The hard part is that there are only 4 tests so start working hard on the first one.

Not knowing much about chemistry itself (my HS teachers didn't teach), I was surprised by how he made the concepts a lot simpler than my previous teachers in HS. Don't listen to some of the negative reviews below. If you review the power points, do the practice problems & study guide, you'll do well in his tests. He really cares about his students!

Yo take Dr. Vancaemelbeck for Chem 2. Do not listen to others. If you WANT to feel challenged, take him. He's easy. His tests are basically Powerpoint/Lectures material. Only his extra credits are MCAT type of questions.

Dr. V is the only professor that teaches pchem at HBU, so you have to take him. His test come entirely from the lectures and practice problems. He does give extra credit for doing the practice problems ahead of time. His test are really hard so the extra credit helps. It is possible to get an A. Just study the notes and practice everyday!

His lectures are not clear or precise. He is not able to relate well to students. Avoid this class and do yourself a favor and take another professor.

Took Dr. V a few semesters ago, he is a great guy. He has these little book things that are rather helpful you should get it for sure. He is easy to understand and really helpful very nice guy. If you don't understand him you don't understand English. Everything is online practice is a very good idea.

Honestly if you are complaining about his accent you don't speak English well enough to start with. He is not that hard to understand. He is there for his students if you show you have made an effort. If you don't make an effort in all honesty you deserve to fail. He also has these little booklets that are extremely helpful you should consider it.

I took Dr. V for Chem 2 first and I loved his class. It was fairly easy, just don't mess up on the exams because there's not many questions on there. Everything is free response. A year later I took him for Quant. He's very helpful and wants you to succeed. His Quant exams are hard and his lab you need to be careful on. He is a great role model.

Professor V was a really good professor. He does have an accent, but I understood him 100% of the time. He's very helpful when you come visit his office, and he's very encouraging. He seems to see strength in independent work especially in lab. His reviews for his tests are very helpful, in fact they're almost exactly like the exam itself.

He is very friendly and easy to talk to. His lectures are not hard as long as you spend time to study the powerpoints and understand the concepts. However, you have to be very independent in his lab. Get help from the TA if you needed it. Lab midterm and final test were challenging. I recommend other professors for the lab portion of this class.

He does have an accent, but it's not too hard to understand. However, to pass you must do practice problems and go over the notes from class. I passed the class with an A (I'm a chem major).

hem2. He has a very heavy accent that is hard to understand and his handwriting goes hand in hand with that. His tests aren't difficult bc it's exactly what you learned, but you need to know exactly how to do it. It's usually 8-10 questions long. He;s really helpful when you go to his office and ask questions, he will always make time to help you.

I love his teaching style. It is easier for me to understand him, he goes step by step instead of expecting you to already know. His office is open to anyone, he want his students to seek him for help if they have any questions about lectur and the problem was they wouldnt. This was a great experience and will be for anyone looking for success

Took Quantitative Analysis with him. His accent was hard to understand but I got used to it after 2wks. He's very helpful. The tests were based on problems, if you're good at math, you'd be fine. And Lab is ...well you have to be very independent, he'l answer qustions but doesnt explain much. he's super nice, be nice to him then he won't yell lol
