Comment:

Dr. K is an amazing person with a great sense of humor who truly cares about her students. Her class activities are engaging and unique, but you have to participate, so if you're introverted be aware that you might be pushed out of your comfort zone a little bit. The tests are multiple choice but they are challenging so be prepared to study.

Comment:

Dr. K is an amazing professor. At first I was nervous because she is a tough grader and has high expectations, but at the end it was so worth it because she makes you feel like you really earn your grade. She is very caring and so funny! Her class is a lot of fun and makes you a better student. Going to office hours is a MUST!!! Be in that office!

Kirkley is one of the best professors I've ever had the pleasure of taking a class with. She's also just an amazing person in general! Her classes are really fun (though fair warning - it will take over your life. In the best way.) She's a tough grader, but she's always willing to help in or out of office hours. 10/10, plan to take again

Comment:

The way Kirkley described the style of this class at the beginning of the semester was very clear, but it's impossible to know exactly what you're getting in to. Nevertheless, I think you would be hard pressed to find a more engaging or unique class at USD. ONE OF MY TOP EXPERIENCES OF MY TIME AT USD. Kirkley is a once-in-a-lifetime teacher.

Comment:

Dr K is an amazing teacher who makes class a beautiful moment of learning and fun. It is nice that there are 6 different projects/takehomeexams and you make only 5. There are extra credit field trips and they make the difference for the grade!! The thing is that not being an upper level class, it demans TOO MUCH, her take home exams are HARD.

There are not enough positive things to say about Dr. K. She is passionate, knows her stuff, and truly cares about her students. Visit her office hours; whether it is about school or anything else, she is awesome to talk to. All assignments are take home. More work than the avg intro level, but worth it. GO TO THE EXTRA CREDIT FIELD TRIPS!

Wonderful professor. Midterm, final, project, participation/attendance. Very clear on what she expects and she knows her stuff. Very approachable and fun to talk to about class/life in office hours. Highly recommend.

Super awesome professor, genuinely cares about her students. I took intro to world religions; the extra credit field trips are interesting and fun. Kirkley alone is enough to take the class. Very engaging in class and always excited. Ordered pizza for our class when we had projects due. You have to work VERY hard to get an an but it's possible!

Dr. K is an outstanding teacher. She cares about her students success and is willing to go the extra mile to help them achieve it. Having said that, she does make you work for your grade and doesn't hand out A's very often. Take this class if you want a passionate and compassionate teacher but be ready to read a lot and really work for your grade.

She is such an amazing professor! Yes, she is difficult, but she grades fairly and is always willing to help out her students. She made my transition to USD so much easier and she really is a diamond in the rough! Be prepared to study a lot, and make sure to go to all the extra credit opportunities. It basically determines if you get an A or a B!

Grades WAY too hard for a general ed class, extremely harsh and unfair grading, stupid participation requirements. Exams are really hard and miserable to take. She's a good teacher but DON"T TAKE THE CLASS IF YOU WANT AN A. Her expectations are impossible to meet and she doesn't like to give good grades. Also cheated me out of points, unfair

I love Dr. Kirkley she is an awesome teacher! She throws a few jokes in during lectures which makes them more enjoyable and the subject matter you will cover is super interesting. I actually looked forward to going to this class. If you show that you care about the class she will love you.

I really enjoyed Kirkley's class. The exams are difficult but she offers a lot of extra credit. I loved going to class because our discussions were so interesting. She's a very animated teacher and its great cause it keeps your attention. I would definitely take her for religion!

Professor Kirkley is so passionate about the subject and her students that it is hard not to smile when she teaches! Extremely enthusiastic. Difficult course but doable...go to office hours, go to class, she gives you the essay prompts in advance. Take one of your core religion courses with her!

Amazing professor! The class is very interesting and I learned so much. It is challenging and the tests are hard, but its worth it. Kirkley is always willing to help you outside of class and she does everything she can to help everyone succeed. Take her!!

Kirkley is the greatest. LOVE how the class is set up: attendence/participation, 3 tests, research project and a final, she drops the lowest one. Definitely engaging and really cares about her students. You have to put some work in, but you'll learn so much. Pretty straightforward, no busy work. Field trips are great and really help your grade.

She is an AMAZING professor. Take her class! She is super helpful, straightforward, and extremely knowledgeable. You will learn so much about religions. The tests aren't bad at all, most people get B's on them. You can get an A by doing the extra credit and participating lots in class.

If you participate and go to the extra credit field trips it's REALLY helpful. Her tests are hard but she is very helpful and always has extended office hours before exams
