Gary is AMAZING. If you have the chance to take him for any course do it!Makes french the best possible experience. He explains everything in a simple way, and will keep going over it until everyone is confident. He is also hilarious and tells very funny stories. Can not say enough good things about this man.

Comment:

One of the nicest profs I've ever had. The course covers simple grammar and the midterms are very easy and straightforward. Any written assignments he grades, he gives back so you can fix it and hand it in again. His lectures may be about grammar but he's pretty passionate about it which makes the lectures more interesting.

Comment:

Makes french 2100 the best possible experience, especially for people who have never done uni french before (like me). He does so many examples of grammar exercises as a class to make sure everyone understands. And with the two short essays, he takes in a rough draft and makes corrections for you to hand in again! Also, tells hilarious stories!

Gary Young is such an amazing man all around. Hes very caring towards students and is very accessible outside class. He answers emails almost instantly and hes so funny. He knows his stuff & will keep you entertained with his personal stories and dad jokes. I really have nothing bad to say about him. Take him if you have the chance

Gary was such a good prof. He put in the time to get to know everyone and where they were from. He made sure we understood things. I took him for two courses and he was amazing. He really just wanted to see you succeed in whatever you did! Highly recommend

Loved Prof. Young's French course! He is such an easy going guy, and makes an effort to get to know you and make you feel comfortable in class. I found the course material quite easy, especially if you study at all. Overall a wonderful course with a wonderful prof, would recommend him to everyone!

He is definitely one of the best professors! His explanations are extremely clear and easy to understand. He is really caring and is willing to help you with anything. He always makes certain that the entire class understands a topic before moving on. He told a lot of funny stories to make the class more fun! He absolutely deserves a 5.0 rating!

Gary is the best prof ever! He is so sweet and willing to do whatever he can to help you. He is also very understanding when it comes to late assignments as long as you have a valid excuse, and is not a hard grader at all. 1010 would recommend!!!

Absolutely loved this prof! He is so helpful and very clear on what he wants for his assignments and tests. I felt I was the most prepared for this final exam than I ever was for any other course. He is such a sweet man and genuinely wants you to do well. I will be looking for courses he's teaching in the future!

Gary Young is a great prof and a sweet man as well! He really takes the time to make sure that his students understand a certain subject and won't move on until it's clear that the class understands. He also never gives out grades like 79 or 89, instead he will always round up to 80 or 90. Overall great prof, and would definitely recommend!

Great professor, great person. I found French 1502 to be a challenge, but he was always very helpful. If the topic is difficult, he will speak in both French and English. Makes sure everybody is comfortable, he asks questions, but if he knows your shy he won't ask you. 100% recommend. Such a great prof

Gary Young is an amazing person which makes him an amazing professor. He is very understanding. I switched my schedule around to take his 1501 class, enough said.
