Poster is super nice and caring and helpful. You can tell he is really passionate about what he teaches. Can't make it to class a few times because of the winter flu, but he was super nice and helped me understand material i missed. Helped him out with one of his projects, I don't think I did well, but he was super nice and grateful for it. Best.

Comment:

Poister was a super nice guy and very laidback. You could tell he cared more about the projects themselves then all the guidelines in the syllabus. Class wasn't always the most exciting but the class itself was pretty well structured. He was a generous grader but also gave good criticism. Overall a very good choice for Prod 1.

I had Poister for documentary production. He's extremely laid back about due dates. The class itself is pretty easy but also enjoyable. He plays a lot of great documentaries and gives good feedback on your work. It's a relief to take a production course that's not overwhelming stressful that really allows you to take your time with your work.

Poister is the man. He's like a dad to everyone in the class and will sacrifice his free time to help you out. He's worked in the Documentary field so he has good advice and will try and help you out internshipjobwise. Can't recommend him enough.

I love poister!!! He was so nice and very laid back, a great environment to learn filmmaking in. He doesn't give a huge amount of direction, he kind of lets you do your own thing, and he doesn't give a ton of criticism, but he'll always find the best in your work! Definitely recommend!

Poister is one of the nicest teachers I've ever had. If you ask him for help, he'll go the extra mile to provide you with any kind of assistance you need. It's easy to get by without interacting with him much/attending every class, but reach out to him as much as possible - he knows his stuff!

Prof. Poister was very nice and very approachable. He showed a true interest in his student's work. The class was pretty easy, but I felt like I was given a lot of creative room with the films I made. He's a total hottie too!

He was one of the best professors/persons I ever encountered during my college years. He does have idiosyncratic sense of humor but very understanding of each student's needs and creativity. He is VERY approachable and helpful, just by being willing to listen to your concerns: a very rare attitude you can expect from any other professors at BU.

Really a great professor. Only teaches pertinent information during lectures which are never boring, and gave us all creative freedom with our videos. Also very encouraging and the tests are easy as long as you study. A really friendly guy as well. You can tell how interested he is in the material. Do yourself a favor and take a class with Poister

You will learn as much as you want to learn in this class. Lots of "optional" readings. Take advantage of his resourcefulness. True, you can sit back and get an A, but you can also work hard and gain knowledge and experience (hopefully that's what you're after). Class itself is a bore though, but the prof is extremely friendly and approachable.

Talk about a lunch meat professor...yes, you will get an A, no, you will not learn anything. Learned way more in Video 1 with Cav then in Video II with this guy. Class in general is a joke (in a studio demonstration he managed to melt a CTB gel...) If you want to judge for your self, just watch his completely mediocre documentary "Jazz Dreams."
