He is a great teacher! I would deffinitly take his class in the future if I need it. No homework for the class except for two papers, that are very easy and straight forward. No suprises in the class. Objecties are posted for each unit and then the tests are written exactly from the objectives. Great Class, really enjoyed it!

Comment:

Amazing teacher. Grading scale stinks, but his objectives are the tests. Take good notes in class. I would take this teacher again if he has a class I will need in the future. He is very straight forward. If the class does bad on a question he will give the whole class credit for the question. He is interesting and I recommend him.

He is a great techer. He is pretty easy and posts the tests as objectives so you know the questions to all the tests. Easy to get a good grade, just pay attention. Very little homework which could be good and bad. OVerall great teacher. Take him if you can.

I think it's possible to get an A because...I did. Go to class, think about your papers when writing them and proof read, and study for his tests. You rarely use the book. Overall, a great professor.

hard to get a good grade. His gradind scale is 93-100 for an A and a B is 83-92, so its impossible to get an A. Hes a hard grader and takes his job way to seriously.

I took him a few semesters ago, and he is BY FAR one of the best I have had at WIU. He knows what he is talking about and the class is very beneficial. If you have the chance to take one of his courses, do so!!

He's a really great professor. I definitely enjoyed his class. He's easy going and a fair teacher, he listens to the class and their opinions. Everything on the test is explained in an outline online before starting the next section of material. He really makes learning easy and effective.

Aside from my history classes, this is the most applicable class i have taken. Very straight forward tests and assignments, and very helpful. Cant do much better than that.

Awesome teacher! I think he is really good at what he does. He has clearly stated objectives and his tests are very straight forward. He is challenging but if you come to class his tests are easy. The material is fun and useful. It is NOT a waste of time - take this guy if you can!

Great Teacher! Listen to all the comments. He clearly states his objectives at the beginning of each section, and the tests are never a surprise. He lets you know what is going to be on them before they are given. Very interesting, very personable.

the other comments are right-he doesn't focus on grades. there were only 120 points counted at the end of the semester (and he gives extra credit assignments)! he is a really nice guy, good personality for a teacher.

Dr. Montalvo is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He knows his stuff and makes things easy to understand. He is a very nice man and treats you like you are his friends. You will see him out of class and he will talk to you. He is also not too bad to look at.

Dr. Montalvo is everything that a teacher is supposed to be: he keeps the focus on learning, not grades; he explains class objectives clearly; he allows room to correct mistakes while praising performance; he creates a no-fail learning environment; he practices what he preaches.
