Overall a great professor, he is very throughout and his test are generally pretty easy. His lectures are loud so sit in the middle or back. He does bounce around a lot and he gets really into his lectures. You can really tell that he enjoys what he teaches. He is easygoing and he wears pot leaf socks so your guess is as good as mine. Easy B or A.

He's a really nice guy. You SHOULD show up. This is the real world - haul your butt to class. However, he didn't even talk about the chapter until after the quiz so you won't miss too much if you just READ the textbook and show up for the chapter quizzes. He babbles a lot which is annoying but is passionate and doesn't ask for much.

You will get graded off of quizzes and tests.(harshly) The quizzes are given to you with a set amount of terms, pick three of the generally stated terms and answer them in a short essay as best as you can to your mind reading abilities of what he expects. Professor Smith is a fantastic professor. He is passionate with his lectures, and is just an amazing guy. His class was one of my favorites to go to just because of how enthusiastic he is. His classes are typically easy, but you do need to work for it a bit, not hard though. Great guy!

It's a hard class but he knows his stuff.There is substantial reading but I'm so thankful for having taken this class.I left it with an intense respect for this country and the Civil War (both sides).DON'T BE ABSEnT AND BRING YOUR BOOKS TO CLASS.Ask questions and take it seriously and you'll do fine

I took his early amer. his. class and it was soo interesting. He tells history like it's a story. I loved going to this class and if you just answered the questions at the beginning of the chapter and remembered this gist, you got 100% on all quizzes. I'll remember this instructor for a long time!

Very good professor. Gets very excited about history, especially about the Civil War. Makes it come alive. Minimal reading for this class, most of the testing is on the films shown in class. Good class discussions. Don't miss classes - you will regret it!

Fun to watch. Very excited about history, but jumps around chronologically. There's a quiz with each chapter - 3 short essay questions. Mid-term and final are multiple choice with essay questions.
