You are gonna fail if you don't attend his lectures. He is a good prof but at times can breeze through new and unfamiliar topics, so make sure to pay attention. Easy finals but strict marking scheme.

WORST prof you can ever meet in Carleton engineering course. Does not like to answer question outside of the class. Be ready to answer questions when you ask him a question that he might talked in class. Hard final exam. I retook this course and got A- from another prof that took me equivalent effort. Avoid him!!!

Very smart guy and expects you to perform well. Lectures are done on the board with some ppts above. Goes through examples in full and gives exam hints and assignment help at end of lectures. He's a very straight up guy and I often left the lecture laughing at his stories. Be efficient at questions and know how to do them his way. "Any questions?"

Super smart guy and really interesting material. His notes can be dense and a bit confusing sometimes but during the lectures he explains topics really well especially if you ask him questions. Tells good stories.

Interesting prof, try a conversation w/him. Mood-dependant. Long assignments - do a week in advance, dedicate hours of time to them and ask TAs for help. Exam is based off of them. Go to his last few lectures - he told us what types of questions are on the exams (subset of assignments) + showed us past exam Qs.. Know how to do them real quickly.

He thinks all undergrads are stupid and will treat them like that. He won't answer questions on any topic he's already covered even though his opening line is 'any questions from last lecture?' He will also do what he can to avoid arranging office hours. After that he'll treat you like a waste of time. He knows the topic but won't dwell in solving.

He is a really nice professor, willing to help us whenever we have difficulties . But this class is really difficult for me especially the third and fourth assignments. But the final is really easy and everyone can get a high mark in his final... So if you would like to get good marks, do the assignments properly...

Moved way too fast. Assumed class had previous knowledge on material. Punished for not. Name called, put students down for not knowing answers/asking questions. Had no regard for well being of students. Teaching style was fun, he's very into his material but gets carried away and forgets that he's teaching. Don't take him. DO NOT take him.

Often goes too fast and you have to wonder if other students really understand anything at all either. passionate abt controls engineering but is much much better suited to teaching grad students. dont miss any lectures, take down his examples, do the assignments (many times over), definitely buy the textbook. this is NOT ur bird course!

This is one of the best courses I have ever taken. The prof. is really knowledgeable and his classes are fun. He is really interested in the students. However, he hates stupid questions. You should have a good knowledge of the background material before taking the course. Carleton would be much better if there were more profs like him.

He is a professor that does not like to go the extra bit to help the student. He mentioned how we need to know certain things, but when we asked for help, he said" Make your own questions ..", He is horrible, mean, take this class with another teacher. He does word problems in class, but the exam/midterm is all about graphical problems.

i mean how can RATE him...hes Ph.D MIT..and me BEE !! ....knows his stuff...most of all got some great ways to handle students...a great BRAIN being wasted at Carleton.....loves to Engineer....my ideal kinda person..
