Comment:

Professor Barshay is a gem. She truly cares about her students, and while she is tough, if you follow her directions and take her feedback you will do well. It is a very important class for when you begin practicing law and she is a great professor!

Awful teacher. Doesnt give out good grades, thinks that a B is a good grade. Its hard when other legal pro. teachers are giving out A's and ur competing with them. She is not really experienced as a lawyer, she just comes from a rich family and married a rich guy so she thinks shes better than u. plus she will not give u the direction u need

She gives stupefying lectures that will make you feel like you are (or wish you were) in a coma. Will tell you something is absolutely perfect one Monday and that it needs a lot of work on Friday. She seems like she would be a nice grandma, she has really successful family, I don't know why she's doing this. To herself, and to the students.

This prof. can't teach , she's not clear with what she presents and isn't helpful in any which way when you meet with her for help . She speaks in a very "wishy-washy" manner and keeps digressing from what she initially says. She expects you to write and present something the way she would. She must understand that each person has their own style.

She is on more pain meds then Rush Limbaugh and she slurs her words and if you can understand them through that they won't make sense anyway. She is unfit to be teaching kindergarten let alone at a law school.

Comment:

Wonderful writing professor, and she gave me a c+ in her class. However, I learned from the grade and went on to win two awards for a paper I wrote during 3rd year. She is very helpful to those who want her help. She is a tough BUT FAIR grader.

Don't listen to the negative ratings posted. I did well in her class by visiting her in her office & doing EXACTLY what she said to do. She even gives you outlines of what your paper should look like. Hardly any reading (except research for papers) & the classes themselves are entertaining.

this lady seems so sweet and is so kind as an adviser but has to be the worst teacher in history. Her lessons are completely from the text and she doesn't add any of her own knowledge. Besides that, in all of her years of teaching she only gives out about 3 A's a year so expect her to ruin your average.

She is a really, really nice lady. But don't let that fool you, she is a bit of a stickler with grades. Pay attention to the way she wants you to do things and you should be ok. Don't expect an A... they don't come often.

Very pleasant person, but a very poor teacher. Her lectures were vague, rambling, and disorganized. There was a lot of joking and laughing during class but a lot of time was wasted by going off into unrelated tangents. This was my worst nightmare come true

Did not like her at all. She could care less about giving students a bad grade. Her lectures were very boring and it was hard to pay attention. She comes off as this nice old lady, but then she'll give you a "C" eventhough your average was an 80. She ruined my gpa along with a bunch of other students'. I will never take her again.

Possibly the worst professor i have had. Although everyone thinks that she is nice and she is personable she has no idea on how to teach the course. She lacks clarity and teaching ability. Her answers are vague and irrelevant to any question you ask. Extremely unfair grading policy, since we compete against other students with who can get A's.

Comment:

Barshay is a great and caring person. She is a genuine person and will help you. I would want her as a teacher again. However, she is a very tough grader and it's hard to get an A or B in her class. My class often joked around a lot. Other than the memo/briefs, you don't need to do any other work and that includes her reading assignments.

Professor Barshay is the BEST professor at Touro. She truly cares about students and really wants to see them succeed. She keeps the topics of the memo and brief interesting and fun. While she is tough (and it's hard to get an A), you will come out of that class being an excellent writer!!!
