Professor Dawes is fun, and his class is very enjoyable. He explains well, and he has compassion for others. All what you need is to record his lecture, and take good notes. He gives hints on what will you be tested on, however I advise you to study daily, and the material wasnt that hard honestly. And yeah he is Canadian, they are just awesome.

Fun professor! His humor may take awhile to get used to but I enjoyed it and it made lecture bearable. He will go over test questions a week ahead of the actual test so go to those! However, he sometimes does not specify what the question will entail so study hard and you will get that A!

He draws his versions of certain processes with diagrams during lecture. These r exactly what u have 2 replicate on his tests, so don't miss his lectures. Detailed notes are key. If he gives u 8 topics to study 4 an exam, on the exam u pick which 4-5 u want to answer. Always study 1 extra topic than u think u need, & skim over the others.

Great teacher! His lectures are fun and not boring, and you learn so much stuff. The only downfall is that the tests are not multiple choice and are all short answers, so you have to study!! It is not an easy A but he prepares you for every test. If you expect and easy A and are lazy, don't take this class because the exams aren't multiple choice.

It's more than possible to get an A in his physio class. He tells you the questions that'll be on his exams and they are accurate. So practice writing out how you'll respond to prep! I recommend to record his lectures. Some questions are very specific. Tests are multiple choice and essay. I truly enjoyed having him as a professor!

He was great. Take notes from what he writes on the board and listen for when he says "this is a good test question". Very helpful when you need it. I would highly recommend him.

Dawes is hilarious. He is a great teacher who obviously loves to teach what he teaches. Tests are straight from lecture. You will take time to study for them but you are prepared if you go to class. Probably one of my favorite teachers so far.

Exams were all based off his lectures, so listen carefully. At first he seemed intimidating but after all the adds and drops he warms up to you. Teaching style is very old school. He uses overhead projectors and writes A LOT on the white board. Overall, truly cares for his students and wants everyone to do if you're willing to put in the effort.

One of the best professors I have ever met! I only had him for Bio 235 Lab but I wished I had taken him for the lecture part as well. You will always have fun in his class.

A great professor. He genuinely wants every student to do well in his class and will do everything he can to make sure you understand what he's going over. He likes to crack jokes in class to keep the mood light. Take good notes and you wont need to do much reading from the book; also his tests are really straight forward if you study well.

wow can i say crazy cool professor? he is so funny, i loved human phys b/c of him. he gives u everything u cud possibly need to get an A on his exams. some may think its straight memorization, but honestly if u can memorize what he tells u, u can understand the material b/c his notes are crystal clear. cool guy wish he taught all of my bio courses

If you have any desire in learning and are the kind of student that actually reads the text book then this class IS NOT FOR YOU!!! Professor Dawes is an older professor and is set in his ways. His test are essay format at yes they come straight from his notes but any monkey can memorize notes and regurgitate them without truly understanding them.

Probably one of the best teachers I had. Attendance is mandatory for the lectures. Everything you need to know he gives in the lectures, barely touched the book. He even tells you "THIS WILL BE A TEST QUESTION" so don't miss lectures at all. Gave us 90% of the test questions upfront so attend class!

Prof. Dawes is a good, well organized instructor. This class has a TON of information so read and re-read. Record the lectures and retype your notes--important things can be easily missed. He should include a couple more tests so there's less to handle per test. Labs are graded, 10 points each. Don't let him soapbox on stuff he knows nothing about!

Hes the best Physio, professor, he's very humorous, he talks about movies and stuff...very intelligent indeed when it comes to Physiology as well as Zoology..For me he's the best example of a true professor...How I wish that all Bio professors are like him...

Very good teacher. I had him a few years back and am just beginning to appreciate the solid foundation he has laid for many physio related classes I have taken after. Tests are not easy but he will tell you what you need to prepare. If you want brownie points, ask him about the band he plays in and he will light up!
