You have to read a chapter or two every week and then you have to take a quiz on it first thing every Monday. Then, and only then, does she talk about and explain the concepts in the chapters you read. Got horrible grades on all of them because I didn't understand anything in the chapters until after the lectures. Awful way of teaching.

Shes a very nice teacher. But this course specifically was not for me. The only grade you will get for this class is based on one essay. Specifically I can not focus on something for that long... Interesting class but the course work is a no. When I went to financial aid they even asked why does everyone drop this class? Too hard...

Dr. Schultz is fantastic at what she does! She makes learning fun and interesting, with very interactive discussions. She can be a bit colorful, but I enjoyed that and it went well with the class ;) Few projects, so work hard and follow directions on them. Show up and debate along with everyone, and youll do amazing! She is great.

She turned sociology 101 into Social Justice Warrior 101, I am fine with a professor discussing politics but I am not fine with a professor creating an environment of fear where students are scared to speak up because they don't want their grades to be influenced by her disliking of anyone or anything that disagrees with her views.

Amazing professor. Read the textbook, come to class, and she will guide you through changing how you think about society as a whole and the individual role we play within it. The course is structured to enhance learning through participation. So, read the text, go to class, and participate in discussions. She will teach you so much. Amazing prof.

I have taken her for 3 semesters total now and every class is awesome. She utilizes the format of class discussion rather than lecture from a power point. The class is highly involved and probably one of the most involved compared to any class ever. Energy is present in this class. No tests, only minimal essays. Read the book. Overall, easygoing.

I am an A student, I work, and I volunteer. Let me tell you this class appears easy to do, but there is a catch; it has very strict rules. People may find the class easy, others may have trouble. Because she communicates in a specific way and some may have trouble understanding. It's recommended to see her personally to plan. Introverts be wary.

She does not clearly communicate, does not give feed back on the four essays. I personally found her very difficult when it came to communications like others have written about. She was very scattered when it came to her lectures. I was upset how the essays were not clear with the deadline or the assignment. i would never take this course again.

Professor Schultz has her strengths and weakness like any other professor would. Although she handed back most assignments, we didn't know our grade until the end of the semester. Due to a lack of use of blackboard, you cannot track your progress unless she hands back your work. Amazing lectures, but sometimes repetitive, confusing/scattered.

Jill was an okay professor. I found it hard to learn from her as she is all over the place with her discussions. We didnt have class the last week of classes but the last paper was due in person but she didnt tell us that the paper was due at the beginning of class and it couldnt be late.

Dr. Schultz is one of the best professors I've ever had at FCC. She goes above and beyond helping and teaching her students throughout the semester. She gives amazing feedback and has a lovely presence and make the class SOOO much fun. You have to participate and read but overall its not a hard class and you actually will learn to love the material

Great overall, but does have flaws- lack of communication in terms of not responding to emails most of the time, unclear on projects deadlines, doesn't use blackboard, communication is extremely difficult without blackboard because she wouldn't respond to emails. Only got 1/4 essays given back to us so grades are unknown until end of semester.

Jill Schultz is a great professor. Attendance to her class is mandatory, and there are very few assignments in her class. She doesn't use blackboard which sucks, but otherwise she was a great professor that was very understanding and respectful of her students.

Okay, don't get me wrong, Jill is an absolutely amazing woman. However, she has a few flaws. She didn't hand back 90% of the assignments until the last day, and doesn't use blackboard, so you don't really know how you're doing in the class. There's also a LOT of reading/writing, while not necessarily a bad thing be prepared.

There are not enough characters in this textbox to be able to explain how well of a professor Dr. Schultz is. I had her for social problems, and she EXPANDED my mind. She had also helped me complete an honor's project with the honor's college... something I would have never thought I could do. TAKE ANY CLASS WITH HER SHE IS EDUCATED!!!!

Dr. Schultz is without a doubt the best professor I have ever had - and that is saying something, since I used to attend a 4 year university. Take one of her courses, she is the head of the Social Science department so she teaches a wide range of courses. Taking one of her classes WILL change your life.
