I honestly would take every single French class she is teaching. I love her french accent, and the fact that she is organized and very straightforward. She makes you want to work hard, she is such an inspiration. If you participate and attend class it is expected that you'll receive a great mark! I definitely recommend her!!

Well she does expect that you go to class (You're paying for it!) She does give a little homework (like read a two page article) each class, it isnt much or long. I really enjoyed her class and she is a very nice person easy to talk to, after hours!

Joëlle Cauville is definitely the best professor in SMU's French department. I have learned more from her than any other professor. She is very clear with expectations and she is almost always available for office hours.

One of the smartest women I have ever met. People complain that it's hard to understand her, it's not. Maybe for people who can't speak French very well, but anyone who is fluent should have no problems. She probably the fairest marker I have ever had at SMU. Work hard for your grades. Try. You will love her.

Her courses are hard but she is a fair marker. She speaks very fast and with a thick france accent. (So office visits usually end up with you leaving being like whhaaa?) She sometimes embarrasses students. There have been a few times where I don't understand a word, and when asked, she responded: you dont know thatt??!? (thanks-i feel smart now)

She's a good teacher and wants people to learn but she's kind of a bully and will embarass people (not a profs job.. that's highschool! we're adults and paying to be there.) kind of sarcastic. Pretty nice. Do all of the assignments and go to class it will bring your mark up a lot. and participate! it's fun.

Part of the grade is based on attendance, which is kind of annoying since you're paying to be there. Gives lots of short assignments which is awesome and really knows her stuff. She's always willing to help as well. Very good prof.

She's a nice lady, but can come off as very intimidating from time to time. Effort is the key to getting a good mark in this class, but I often felt apprehensive about saying anything. I also felt very discouraged constantly as she would repeatedly put "good enough" on all of my work; ironically felt like I was NEVER good enough.

Madame Cauville id quite simply the best French professor I have ever had and one of the best teachers I have studies under in any discipline. I recommend her without reservation for anyone who is interested and serious about learning. I give her an A+++++! She's great!

Cauville is hands down the best professor I've ever had. She challenged me to do my best and was always there to help, in school as well as in the "school of life". I miss her greatly and consider her to be a friend as well as a mentor.
