I just don't connect with the teacher..it is supposes to be the history of rock from the 1950's to the present, but he just wants to go up to 1972 because he doesn't like disco or doesn't like the music after that 72'.The Class wasn't what i expected to be.

Overall, I really like Mr. Hord. He was the first person able to get me to read music, and he is great at getting you to understand why you are actually doing something, and teaches in a way you are never overwhelmed. Only downside is he rambles *forever* about stuff not class-related at all... like, 45 minutes at a time. Irritating, but livable

He's a good instructor, and very knowledgeable of music. Although his classes are boring and he goes on with his stories. Plus his assignments and quizzes are really easy. At the end of the day it's always fun to count how many people are asleep during his lectures.

HE IS NOT HERE TO PLAY GAMES HE IS HERE TO TEACH. I PERSONALLY LIKE THAT KIND OF ATTITUDE IN AN INSTRUCTOR, HE GETS A BIT SIDE TRACKED AT TIMES WHEN HE GETS ON A SUBJECT HE FEELS PASSIONATE ABOUT. OVERALL HE IS A FANTASTIC INSTRUCTOR AS WELL AS A GREAT PERSON. HIS KNOWLEDGE OF MUSIC IS AMAZING!

He is passionate about music and students. Because of that, don't expect an easy A. You have to show up and do the work well. Overall he was great but the only thing I can complain was giving homework without telling students the rubric to which the homework would be graded by.

While the class subject itself is interesting and fun to learn, Mr. Hord isn't fit to be a professor. There are many complaints I can make about him so I'll try to keep this as short as possible. First and foremost, he's rude at times and because of this it makes it hard to confront him and ask for help. If a professor makes their students feel unc

Hord was an easy teacher idk why he has such a bad rating. It is super easy to get an A in his class. He has like 5 question tests that he gives you the answers to in a study guide ahead of time and his homework takes two seconds to do and he barely assigns them too. If you dont feel like learning the piano then mute your keyboard during the tests

John Hord is excellent at what he does. He was taught well and has a fund of knowlege that awaits you. Act like an adult by taking this class seriously. Take notes, study, read the textbook, and you'll get an A.

Pretty easy class, especially during summer. he's always around if you need help, he gives you a study guide for the tests, just make sure you study. lectures are sort of boring early in the morning, but they're managable. i recommend him for the class

Pay attention to when he talks and how he moves his upper lip when talking, it helps to keep awake with the boring subjects; especially the way he approaches them. Plus he does brag a lot about himself, his English background, and music people in general.

I took this class over the summer. It's true that he enjoys bragging about himself and he enjoys what he is teaching. The exams are easy especially the written portion.

Passionate about music. If you take good notes and study you will do well. Lectures are related to exams. Use of Music Dictionaries are very handy. Outgoing teacher, yet serious about his expectations.

His lectures do not pertain to the class. He tells stories about his nephew who boxes, not applying to music in any sense, and he complains about rich people too much.He tries to be funny, thinks he's smarter than us,and seems to love to spell out words.
