John is articulate, well travelled, knowledgable, and very funny. He knows his stuff very well because he always closes his eyes when he starts lecturing. Very easy going professor and very very helpful take him for all your English classes.

Good professor, has much knowlege on the subject. No midterm just a final paper&final exam 40% each. 20% att. & partic. The final 10pg paper; topic(freechoice) given at the beginning of the semester. He gives the students a list of questions he will put on the final about 1-2 weeks before it. Nice guy just take good notes and study them well.

You MUST go to class and take notes. Trust that he knows what he's doing (he really, really does) and that it will all make sense eventually. Ask questions as they come up and go to his office hour if you are confused. Don't be scared if you don't understand at first - you will learn! That's the point of college, isn't it?

Sweet, friendly, & intelligent. He's very articulate and clearly knows linguistics. The class might seem hard because there is a lot of matetrial to cover and he moves through it all very quickly, but he's a lenient grader so it makes up for it. You will use the book a lot in this course. Yes, he'll call on you randomly. He says "certainly" a lot.
