Comment:

A ton of information all at once. Will definitely make you look dumb if you answer a question she assumes you should know. Also, isn't clear with your grading if you ask her where your at in the class. Read, Re-read and keep reading. Difficult tests, more than 80 percent failed a test. Information in handouts isn't what is on the actual test.

Comment:

Mrs. Encinas is a wonderful professor I have learn so much about history and fashion with her. She makes the class fun. Very sweet funny lady. She expects students to take good notes. Her quizzes are open book, and she will let you know ahead of time when you are having one.

This class was a 3 hour class two days a week so prepare yourself to take in a lot of information ! Encinas is a very passionate teacher but she doesn't mean harm. she just wants her students to work hard for the best grade. Reading the book really helps to study for the tests, because she will make the tests complicated.

Comment:

Not a difficult class, but I wish she got back to emails and was clear about what she expected when giving assignments(BEFORE their due dates). However, if you get confused/off track she will talk to you after class or during office hours. Luckily she gave us opportunities to earn extra credit and re-do assignments that were done completely wrong.

The class was pretty easy, but you must show up! All the test are open note/book and she really does lecture over everything so you must take notes. A few easy projects (museum trip and article review) and one presentation. Overall I enjoyed the class. She has a slight attitude occasionally but just ignore that and do the work.

Comment:

She's so nice, clear, and knowledgable. She let us use open notes during tests, so as long as you take good notes (she even has a lecture packet with pictures), you can't really fail her tests. Gives out lots of extra credit. I learned so much. Very interesting class. I highly recommend her and fashion history.

She is an amazing well of knowledge....a world of experience to share....excited about fashion and a fantastic educator...i would take her for every fashion class if I could...I have learned soooo much from this woman..I feel honored to have met her...

Karen is one of the nicest professors you will ever meet. There are a lot of notes in her class so don't miss a day. She does offer extra credit near the end. It's a pretty easy class though i bombed pretty much all of the quizzes accept one and still got an A. I learned a lot about fashion history though take it you will enjoy it!

Textiles is not an easy class but all you have to do is study hard and keep going over the material: college 101. Most students expect fashion to be easy but most are very lazy. I got an A in the class. Karen is an excellent teacher and is not too hard as some previous posts have implied. She knows her stuff and wants her students to do well.

At first you dont know what to think of her as far as if you like her or not. But honestly shes really a cool teacher just show up read the chapter she tells you and you will be fine. She gives great advice and I learned so much. I will def recommend her as a teacher.

I took Karen for Beginning and Industrial Sewing. She knows alot and has 25+ years of experience. She can be sort of flaky, not usually clear, and talks down to you often as if you're stupid. But she's fair and for some reason, I feel compelled to keep taking her classes. I definitely recommend Industrial Sewing- you learn incredibly valuable info.

I loved this class I dont know what that person before me is talking about she is a really cool teacher. I learned a lot and the class is only hard if you dont show up. I mean really its only once a week! She does expect for the students to catch on fast but I have never felt like she looks down on us at all. I def recommend her to anyone.

She's by far the most arrogant teacher I've ever met, and she really looks down on her students. Really unhelpful when it comes to answering questions because she hates to get interrupted while teaching. Her tests are very hard. I don't reccomend her at all, but she's the only textiles teacher at Chaffey right now.

she's really got a whole new personality. she's real sweet. a lot of students complain and don't like her.(infact, literally every student i've ever met) but that's all changed now!!! i promise. she's just lovely and i'd take a class with her again. (and i never thought i'd say that before.)
