I really enjoyed taking Advanced Type with Professor Kresge! She's really kind, she pushes you as a designer, and she is always quick to offer great design and life advice; both in and out of the classroom. She takes the time to sit and talk with each student individually too, which is super helpful! Would definitely recommend taking her classes!

Comment:

Professor Kresge really cares about her students and will push you to do your best work. I had her for Advanced Type, and I can honestly say that it's still one of my favorite classes that I've ever taken. Between classes, AIGA, and internships, she's super involved, but she still gives 110% to everything she does! Amazing person all around!

Comment:

Kresge is the best professor I've had at KU so far. She knows her stuff and doesn't hesitate to let us know when something we do isn't working. That being said, she helps us take that flawed idea and mold it into something beautiful. I came away from her class with a deeper understanding of how to integrate type into my designs. A stellar prof!!

Very helpful with feedback. Sometimes unorganized but her typography work is amazing. She really has a passion for type and has a sweet personality. A lot of work at times especially with thumbnails , but she makes you do high quality work. It really gave me an appreciation for typography and typefaces.

Kresge is like the mom of the CD department. She is simply wonderful. I've had her at least once each year being here. She's also my advisor, and I cannot imagine having anyone else advise me. She knows her stuff, she'll push you to do your best, and she's extremely encouraging. I'm really pleased with the way my work turns out in her classes.

as it goes in the KUCD dept, you are either a kresge person or a clair person. if you are a kresge person, keep taking her. you'll come out with a great portfolio. the people that take every class with clair have consistantly had poor portfolios that all look the same for years. kresge will give you the opportunity to have nice, varied pieces!

All in all a very nice woman, her opinions are a little bias towards her own preferences in design, and she tends to play favorites with certain female students who are mediocre at best. She is VERY HELPFUL and a great teacher, she helped me out alot and she has great ideas for improving design. I would recommend her to anyone serious about design.

she has an amazing eye for design. she'll push you to your limit and then some, but its worth it. i can't say enough good things about this woman, she is one of the most talented designers i know. and any CD major who complains about learning 60 fonts is a ****. its called typography, get over it.
