Comment:

Kathy was a good teacher at times. But I have never sat through such opinionated lectures before. I left a few classes almost in tears. She has a good heart and the material is easy, but if you are actually trying to learn I would stray away.

Kathy is the BEST professor ever. SERIOUSLY, take her if you can! She is so caring + nice and her class is always so interesting. Most of her quizzes are pass-fail and you can easily get by without doing the reading, but I would recommend doing it because she loves when students participate!

Comment:

Easy papers and interesting topics are covered in class, but the midterm was hard. Participation and essays are grade boosters. Final was take home, which was easier for both her and for us. Not exceptional, but still one of the best CF teachers out there.

Kathy is one of the best professors you will ever have at NYU. She is funny, intelligent, and extremely knowledgeable. She explains things in a clear way. If you don't take her you're missing out!

I LOVE HER!!! She was my first professor at NYU and she really knows what she is talking about. She is understanding, hilarious and is extremely clear with what she expects from you. Only 2 papers and 2 exams, very manageable course

Amazing professor! Very accessible outside of the classroom. Two essays and a Midterm (which was pretty difficult) and Final (Take home). I would recommend taking her if you're looking to procrastinate in class.

The best prof ever. Super engaging and caring connects everything to modern day. Pass/fail quizzes on reading occasionally, super easy, and interesting essay topics. I highly recommend.

This class is the worst, its all art history which is dumb. Tests are way too hard with how mediocre the information you learn is. I don't write reviews, but wanted to warn my fellow men.

Kathy is a great professor. She always tries to relate the hundred year old readings to the modern day. She is very approachable and really inspiring. However, she does not like lateness and attendance/ participation really matters. It is useful to actually read the books-- it will make the papers and tests easier.

I really enjoyed class with Kathy. She made lectures interesting by including a lot of different types of sources. She likes when people participate so speak at least once every class.

Amazing teacher, always open about expectations, keeps students engaged and can be really funny. She applies the readings to modern day which makes discussion more interesting and tends to get more people involved.

I absolutely adore Kathy! She's an amazing professor. The LS curriculum is pretty dull, but Kathy knows how to make history come alive. I'm going to miss office hours in Starbucks. Good luck in trying to enroll in her class; her class fills up quick!

Had her for CFI and CFII.. WISH I could take her for CFIII. She's passionate about what she teaches. One take home exam, one midterm, two papers - SUPER easy if you just put a little bit of effort. Also she's hilarious and super easy to talk to!

Kathy is an amazing professor! I took her for CF 1 and HAD to take her for CF 2, she is just so good. She's very understanding of the problems students face and is happy to help out in any way she can. Her tests and papers are not meant to terrorise us but help us, and she is always willing to meet with us for any additional help (at Starbucks!)

Kathy - as she introduced herself on day one - is an absolute gem. I am not an art history buff in the slightest, and to be honest it doesn't really interest me, but Kathy kept me engaged day in and day out. Her lectures are fun and lively and the coursework is very manageable. If you skim the reading, you'll be fine. Can't recommend enough.

Probably the best professor you could have for CFI. Kathy manages to effectively teach you the material and get you to work without the stress. She's not specific with reading deadlines as long as you get it done. She's funny in class and relates material to modern day. Midterm was tricky but the final was take-home, easy. 2 essays. Def recommend.

She's super understanding and assigns a reasonable workload (mostly reading & group projects). Participation counts & she takes attendance out loud everyday. I wasn't interested in the books, but she always had engaging lectures. 2 essays (5-7pgs), an easy midterm, & a take home final. Overall, an amazing class. I'm taking her again next semester.

Comment:

Great professorsuper engaging and very passionate. Not an "easy A" class however. Her midterm was quite tricky. Participation encouraged. Two big essays for the class, some readings, and a midterm and a final. Take her if you want a nice and interesting teacher but you do have to work. She takes attendance out loud at the beginning of every class.
