It's a tough class no matter what professor you have. Professor Dougherty is an incredibly sweet person and truly cares. The tests were difficult.

Comment:

There's A LOT of reading every single day but its because its the Bible.. and she gives pop quizzes at least once a week but they're really simple if you do the reading. She gives study guides and word banks on every test. She's so awkwardly funny and super super nice/understanding. Definitely take her if you get the chance.

She's a fantastic Professor. She makes Theology extremely enjoyable. Yeah you have to read a decent amount but she only makes you read things she's going to test you on. She's also full of life and is so awkwardly funny. You should take her if you get the chance.

She is a really great professor. I was thinking this class was going to be so boring but she actually makes it interesting. She gives a pop quiz at least once a week but as long as you read you'll do fine because she gives credit for most answers. I would definitely recommend taking her class if you have the option to!

I loved this class! Going in I assumed it was going to be boring. If you read and participate in class you will be fine. 1 paper, 3 tests, and plenty of pop quizzes! Prof D is hilarious! If she did not make class fun I don't think I would enjoy it and would not retain any of the information. Hope to take her for Theo II!

Professor Dougherty is a very nice lady. Obviously the bible is a hard class to teach because there is so much to know. As long as you do your nightly readings you will be fine. Watch out for a pop quiz once a week, real easy up to six questions to make sure you read. Tests are hard make sure to study!!

Very Sweet Person. lectures can long at times but she makes it easy to get an A in the class as long as you put in the work. There is a lot load of reading but if you skim it or spark note the bible you should be fine for the pop quizzes. She drops a lot of quizzes anyway at the end of the semester. Take good notes! the test is selfexplantory

It's very hard to be a likable Theology teacher, because the subject is so difficult. She is probably all you could ask for in a theology teacher, considering the majority of them are priests and nuns who expect your life to revolve around this class. The quizzes are super easy, but the tests are pretty hard. The paper was really easy as well.

Very nice woman who took my class after our original teacher went on a medical leave. She is very passionate about the subject and gives very energetic lectures that usually end early. Tests are pretty easy and her paper is very simple. Gives a lot of simple 5 question quizes but drops a slew of them as well. Read and take notes and an A is yours.

With significant experience as a sacristan at the local cathedral, I know what makes a good Theology professor. Her son makes fun of my lisp, so there's no way I can tell her about this. She is a wonderful and kind woman, although she could not immediately answer my question of who begat Jehosephat in Matthew 1:8. Still a very nice guy.

She is an absolute delight to share a classroom with. If the theology department had more people who are as passionate as Professor Dougherty, maybe more people would be theology majors. If only she taught Theology II, too.

Best lady ever! Makes 75 mins fly by! 15 quizzes that get annoying and some are difficult but she only takes 10. 2 very easy test Matching word banks a few essays that can be difficult and one easy paper. can't wait to take her again. i would wait to take her if u can't take her now.

She really is a nice lady and this class is very straight forward but if you don't put down exactly what she wants on the test she will mark it wrong. I didn't go to class very often but I know the bible pretty well so I answered questions on the test in my own words and she took off alot of points. Overall nice lady and my advise is to go to class

Comment:

She is an amazing person. I hate the Bible, but she makes me want to become a priest. Her teaching style led me to an A++, and her husband is also an A++. Her son, on the other hand, is a dirty hippie. Don't let this make you think she's not awesome. He was just a bad egg. She cares about her students' futures more than she cares about her son's.

Thank God for Professor Dougherty! She replaced our original professor who was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! Midterm covers the Old Testament, Final covers the New - NOT COMPREHENSIVE! She's incredibly funny, is always smiling, and really enjoys teaching. Such a refreshing change from our first professor! TAKE HER!

Awesome, cool, nice, helpful. 2 tests + non comprehensive final. Quizzes add up to another test as well as a paper. Everyone does well on quizzes and paper. She gives out review sheets that are really helpful for tests. Really doesn't make you go in depth. If you know general concepts of the bible you will do really well.
