Comment:
Okay, everyone here is being unrealistic and brutal. He is a good professor; if you try, you'll get a good grade. If you get on his good side you'll be fine, and if you ask questions he's always willing to help. Also, he's hilarious.

Gann has no idea what is going on as the teacher. he simply writes on the board what he has on his paper and still manages to make more mistakes than any students in the class. A ton of busy work that is not necessary to succeed on tests or in the course. Takes off points for the most ridiculous stuff. take anyone else

Gann is an absolute joke as a professor. OSU should refund any student forced to put up with this knucklehead. His constant mistakes and mumbling combined with a heavy workload are enough to confuse anyone. Despite his blunders he still has the nerve to treat students rudely and grade papers harshly. He's a Nazi who makes easy work seem impossible.

Probably the worst professor I have ever had. He was mean to students and overly strict on grading. Seemed like he might have been a nice guy in person, but I was always too scared to go talk to him one on one. If you study and do the homework, you can make a good grade. Overall terrible teacher.

Terrible professor. Doesn't explain anything in class, moves very fast, makes many mistakes, and you cant understand him. Just copy down his work and teach yourself the material. Tests and quizzes are easy but you have to study. If you can help it, I would not recommend taking his class.

He's been friendly to me in the math lab and helpful in my personal interactions with him, but in class, he treats students harshly (esp. with deadlines) and otherwise seems not quite with it (i.e. not knowing how to work technology, dropping things, stumbling over his words, saying things incorrectly and causing confusion). I do NOT recommend him.

Math comes pretty easy to me, so it wasn't a terribly difficult course, but Gann is probably the worst professor I've ever had. His hw system is bs, his class sessions aren't helpful at all. If you can, avoid this guy.

Honestly, i have ejoyed math my entire life, still do. However, of all the math teachers i have had, Gann is by far the worst. He is always making mistakes during his lecture and always mumbling. TA's are very helpful and willing to help anytime. During the course Gann gives 10 hw assignments and 13 quizes (requires lots of outside time).

If you show up for class and attend the TA sessions, an A is definitely attainable. Instructor was very nice, gave lots of help. Part of the problem is that it's a huge class and lots of people that don't really want to be there. But, you get to take a notecard in with your formulas for every exam. All in all, a good class.TA very hard to understand

If you do your work, show up, and pay attention it is a fairly standard class. If you miss 8 days you fail. Other than that it's as good as any other class.

Professor Gann is a nice guy, but a really poor professor in a classroom setting. He was really kind to me (I work a lot during the week) and he always asked how I was doing, etc. and helped me with my homework when I asked. But he's not a very effective math professor. Some people aren't meant to teach, and he is one of them unfortunately.

This class is fairly easy, but that is only attributed to the fact that 80% of it is done online. Mr. Gann seems to be so old that he oftn forgets what he's saying as he says it. He makes MANY mistakes and stumbles over his words often. Aside from the apparent language barrier, he is a nice guy and grades fairly.

Horrible teacher. His lecture was confusing, and often counts off alot for small errors on tests. Also, the TAs don't speak English, but are more helpul than Gann, if that tells you anything.

At first he comes off a little rough. But he is a great teacher. He helps you out a lot and makes things very clear if you just ask. Also he curves the class quiet a bit because he hates giving bad grades, although some students still do bad. If you just go to class and pay attention you will do great

Would not recommend. Doesn't explain things very well and he expects you to get it off of 1 example. The TA's are somewhat helpful, but sometimes are to understand. He writes up his own notes and homework and doesn't use the book at all. And the notes aren't always the clearest.

I had the math lab version of college algebra and only had to go to class once a week. If you breezed through Algebra in high school, then the online version is much more convenient, but learning new info is frustrating when you have to teach yourself. Gann didn't teach much in his one day a week. He doesn't explain the questions you ask.

This teacher is utterly awful. I am making an A in the class but that doesn't change the fact that this man does not know how to teach. My TA teaches better 100 fold. An embarrassment to OSU.

Had for Bus Calc... freakn Hard! do not take this clas. I recommend going to NOC. Its in a Large class, I hate HUGE classes, and the TA's a foreign so its hard to understand them (not being prejudice). He studders a lot and expects you just to know the stuff! And makes a lot of mistakes teachn You do get to use notecards on test but that dont help!
