Comment:
Dr. Brownlee is a very nice, and you can tell he cares about his students. He is very passionate when he lectures. However, you have to WORK for your grade! Read the books, take your time on the papers, and show up to class. Overall, he is a fair grader. An A is possible, but you have to put in the work on your on time.

Comment:
Brownlee's FYS class was VERY interesting BUT his class requires alot of work for an FYS class. There is ALOTof reading. There are3medium papers and1long final paper allgraded harshly. It is important toparticipate/be afavorite in the class. Provides good feedback but isvery unavailable for office hours. MUST WORK HARD FOR AN A BUT IT IS POSSIBLE

Comment:
I had Professor Brownlee my freshman year for a world religion class. We had a lot of assigned reading to do, with three textbooks and several articles on ACE every week. However, I would still recommend this professor because he is so caring and his lectures offer all sorts of new perspectives on religious customs and beliefs.

Uses $100,000 words that can make tests, quizzes, and assignments hard to comprehend. Starts class on time but many times will end it late. Packs a lot of material into class, and the tests are difficult to study for. He is a really nice guy, however.

i had dr. b in 1998, he is one of the kindest, most genuinely interested teachers i have EVER had, if he does have a weakness it is that he is too kind in letting idiots run a little wild in class... great teacher, great person!

He is an okay prof. He takes forever to grade papers. His tests are horrible. There are tons of T/F questions that are stupid. Class is pretty boring. Just don't take ethics, regardless who teaches it.

Not much of a teacher. He doesn't really know 50% of the material, but he's articulate and good at pretending. And don't ever expect a straight answer from him.
