great teacher. if you do the work that is asked of you and show that you are trying to improve you will get a good grade. i hate reading and writing but she made the class fun and was very helpful. GREAT!

She is nice, overall an easy class if you don't mind writing short essays. She can be confusing and rambles on, making class a lot longer than it should be. 3 "porfolios" throughout the semester, and an essay type thing for the final. I got an A, but I did put effort in. She likes you to email her your work and basically tells you what to fix

She's one of the nicest and most caring profs at this school! There is a lot of short writings in class, and a 1-2 page paper about every week. Work is easy because you can usually pick the topics you want to write about. I would take her again if I could!

She is a nice person, but a tough teacher who does not play favorites. She does not excuse absences and will ultimately make you suffer for it even if you are one of the most outspoken in the class. Not always clear on her assignment instructions, which is annoying since the English curriculum is rather open-ended to begin with.

She's okay. Likes to wax poetic about theory of public speaking and ALL the details behind it. Sometimes its painful to listen to and keep hearing over and over. Grades very fairly. I got an A without much trouble. She has an attendance policy and will knock points off for every abscence - EVEN if its excused.

Dr. Masiello gave a very desperate girl a real chance when she hired me as a tutor for the Writing Center in the early 90s. I worked there for three years, and we became friends. The daily process of working with other writers, along with her encouragement and (more importantly) willingness to let me go about things autonomously, forever changed my own approach to language. Thank you, Lea. I got where I was going.

Easiest class of my freshman year. she helps you revise your essays by giving GREAT advice and she makes class interesting by encouraging discussions. you pick the topic of your essays, and as long as you try and know at least how to use the english language correctly, you'll get a good grade!

Fairly easy class. She is very clear and let's you choose your own topics. Keeps dicussion lively and fun. There's 4 papers and you can email her them and she'll help you every step of the way. She cares about her students and can make time for them. She is absolutely excellent!
