Every time I meet with her, I want to shout What do you want? She seems really nice but is super unclear about expectations. Really frustrating prof because its a 400-level class, so youd think that shed be really clear, but no. Talking with her was exhausting.

Six modules unlock and are due every two weeks, each with a homework assignment and test. Tests are tough, but she provides practice tests that mirror the graded test. Three revision papers, revising your previous written work, every other module. Well-structured online class with adequate time to complete the work.

I withdrew from her class after I was having horrible medical issues. I missed one quiz, and visited her during office hours to explain my medical absence. She went off to show me this class wasn't for me and that I should drop it.

Amazing professor. I was hesitant of this class, but she is kind and helpful. I think having it 4 days a week instead of 2 would make the info more digestible. I did often leave feeling overwhelmed after 2 hours. Also, there is no GRADED homework, but that leaves all of your exams (3 of them) determining your grade! Some parts are take home though.

Dr. Gray was a good teacher, but for some reason I found her exams a little over the top. Although she has a great personality, I would suggest taking a class from a different professor. Next to Dr. Armstrong, I think she is one of the nicest professors I have encountered. Dr. Sutphin is pretty amazing too and who can forget Dr. Olson?

Linguistics with her is a very fun class, she relates a lot of the lectures to real world examples. I had no interest in linguistics before taking this class but am now thinking about it as a major. Highly recommend her! She also grades on improvement, so if you learn something and are doing okay by the end of the class she will bump up your grade.

Comment:

Linguistics is basically an overview of language properties. Professor Gray taught it well. She gave handouts of the outlines of her lectures for us to follow along and take extra notes. The paper was a good way to find various ways to apply what we learned in class to real life. Plus, she's willing to do what she can to help you understand it all.
