If you want to be a good artist, learn from her. She has full of teaching experience (More than 25 years). She once was a department of head. She is not going to be easy on you but none of art faculties are easy anyways. You will struggle in 2D and 3D, especially with ms.McMahon, but you will learn A LOT.

Great teacher! She's hilarious and knows her stuff! Questions on take home test a little difficult. Grading is fair, you just have to try. I learned a lot in her class!!!!

Avoid her: WORST communicator ever, take home exams insanely difficult, Test info is not found in text or lecture & diff to rsch. I asked for help at Hunter Art museum, they said they had no way of finding the info she wanted on one of their pieces. One curator said teacher wanted info she did not have to understand until she was in grad school!

Don't take this woman for 3D!!! Drill seargent... LOL She's not a good teacher. She'll make you feel like crap and doesn't give you enough time to finish the assignments, which require a lot of patience.Take Dan Bethune for 3D instead!!!!

She is an amazing teacher. You can learn so much from her. She is strict, but if you work hard you can get a good grade. She doesn't tell you exactly what you should do, but she encourages you to experiment and figure it out yourself. I learned a lot by taking this class.

Comes accross as abrasive and takes a while to warm up to. I thought she didn't care for me until I got short and abrupt with her out of frustration, and she seemed nicer after that, and even said I was funny. Expects alot from students and has 0 tolerance for self doubt. Is not a warm,huggy encourager, more of a "tough it up" encourager.

She is a great teacher, she knows what she is talking about, and loves what she does. She is helpful and honest (she tells it like it is). She has springs on her shoes. Plus she brings us food sometimes.

She is the WORST professor that I have ever had. Not nice, not helpful, VERY unclear. I do not reccomend taking her for anything except for her ceramics classes.

Just be diligent in your work and you'll be fine. She helps in your critiqueing skills. Class is only hard if you don't take advantage of class time and ask her questions. Don't be afraid of her.
