Mr. Mestyanek is an amazing teacher! He is the reason I continued to further my education in Psychology. He makes it interesting and he is very helpful. His test weren't that difficult but everything he teaches in class is clear. He gives many examples of what he is teaching which makes it easier to learn the theories. Take this teacher!

This is a very easy class. There are 4 exams and the final 5th exam is optional. You only take it if you are not satisfied with your grade. There are in class activities almost every week, which are fun and you always get your points if you are there. Everything that you need to know is in the power points, so you don't really need the book.

AWESOME! FREAKIN'! TEACHER! Seriously one of the best classes ever (& I had 4 classes this summer). He's very laid back, easy to talk to, and is passionate about his work. He makes all the material relative to your life to help you understand it better. There's NO WAY to NOT PASS his class...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

This class was amazing. I learned so much and was never too stressed out over the work to enjoy it. If you need an A to raise your GPA, just take this class. You will enjoy it, and learn so much. He's a great guy and has a full time job as a psychologist, so he has many stories to tell as the course goes on. I will definitely miss his class... :)

this professor rocks!! i took him in the spring for psych 3 and recently this summer. its a pretty chill class, but you learn SO MUCH! I do agree with the comment below. He seemed as if he were in the punk scenery back in his college days. He is a therapist, so he offers outside help too :) take him! and if you can't pass his class, it's a shame...

mestyanek is awesome! so fun and easy i wish all teachers had his attitude. hes got a big tat on his arm and wore short sleeves on the second day. pretty cool teacher. i get the feeling that he was part of the south bay punk scene years ago. he went to el co too. take him, you wont regret it!

I had this professor during winter session. We never used the book. Instead, he emailed us the notes prior to the lecture. Since the course was very short, I didn't retain much material. I would have had to try really hard to fail that class...Nice teacher though!

seriously this class is super easy but you do learn quite a lot! i wouldn't buy the book because he sends all the notes through email, he tells you EXACTLY what is going to be on the test, you can use a notecard, and some are even take home! omg super chill professor but you do LEARN! i agree with the person below if you can't get an A quit life!

he is the bestest psychology teacher....i dropped psychology 5 3 times and now taking it with him for winter.... and i love this class. he is very helpful...he will explain every theory with examples, class discussion and his notes which he emails to every student. study the notes = A+ on test!!!!

professor mestyanek is amazing his biggest concern is the students...if you arent passing the class he will give you enough extra credit to make sure you are passing the class...you really dont need the book in the class you just need to study he notes which he emails to you...i highly recommend this teacher!

Took Professor Mestyanek over the summer. Easy and Nice Professor. Really made an effort for students to learn and apply concepts to relevant, real-life experiences. Class was interesting. Movies were entertaining and group work was easy. Highly recommend him! Great professor!!!! Offers extra credit and finished the class with an 107%.!!

one more thing, he urged us to get a textbook "Exploring Psychology", but I DID NOT USE IT ONCE this WHOLE SEMESTER!! so, don't waste your money and only get it if he assigns something out of it...IF.. he hasn't given any hw or assignments from the book in my class but he may for yours..just a heads up!

The class is fairly easy considering IT IS psychology. He e-mails the notes to you so that class time is pretty much free time. You can follow along his lectures if you wish, but you can pass his exams with an A+ just from looking at the notes! His lectures aren't boring though, very interesting & helpful to LIFE. he's an awesome teacher. take him!
