He's great! Really clear, assigns pertinent readings, super-helpful if you go to office hours, wants to see you learn useful things. He's a great teacher and always makes jokes, etc. to keep you engaged. He's an emeritus so don't know hoe much longer he'll be teaching, but highly recommend- one of my favorite profs to date.

He is a very cute professor, his antics and quirks. However, he requires very detailed explanations in his midterms, like he needs numbers and specificity which is often very difficult to memorise. Often goes on tangents during class but is interesting nevertheless. The class requires a lot of reading but if you pay attention in class then np.

There was regular homework but as long as you put a little time into it, it was pretty easy to do well. Also, the tests followed the study guides really closely so that helped. As for the classes themselves, Aldrich is such a sweet guy and made discussions as lively as possible.

He is a funny man. He is always wiling to make things more clear to you. He leads class discussions well (and fun). His tests are very predictable (including final) from his study guides and hw. He is an awesome teacher.

Quite possibly my favorite class at smith. Aldrich is on the ball and has a wealth of knowledge. I disagreed with his entire approach to environmental economics, but learned so much from his intellegence and coherence. It will be interesting to see what new thinking replaces him.

Very organized lecturer. Homework was returned promptly- but he's not so interested in how you're doing until the final paper and test (80% of your grade occurs in the last 2 weeks of the semester!)
