He is extremely nice, but honestly he's not very good at teaching...He lectures from the book and has us do practice problems, the problem is, he doesn't explain well enough. He really sticks to the departments calendar and moves along with chapters when a lot of the class is confused. By doing that it makes the class harder. If you can get another

Taught class evenings at LAVC. Sometimes late (due to commute). Would start off class by asking for questions on homework. Wouldn't move on unless everyone was on the same page. Gave classwork, walked around class and checked on everyones progress. Written tests based off homework. Very helpful and approachable. Great professor.

I really enjoyed this class. Math isn't my favorite subject so I was glad to have a pro that new what he was teaching. This guy taught more math clearly than any of my slow dimwitted high school teachers did He says what he wants at the beginning and that is just to pass the tests. He has quizzes and tests but they're easy Just got to pay attention

I learned absolutely nothing. His lectures are useless and are not helpful in any way. He likes to think he is funny, but he really isn't. Quizzes every week that are actually easy. Group work that is pointless. Tests that are okay. I would recommend not taking him. Take someone else if you want to learn something.

rayner is extremly useless in the classroom. you might as wekk learn math on your own. he tries to be funny, but is not at all. when you ask a question, he asks you to figure it out yourself. i do not recommend him, unless you can learn on your own

Worst Teacher I have ever had, he is so mean. If you ask him a question he tells you to figure it out by yourself. I only took him for 92 but i heard he is worse for 93. If you want a hard teacher, and learn by yourself take him. He just doesnt care about his students, I would personally go with another professor.

Ugh! This professor was not helpful at all! When I would ask for help on a certain problem, he would just keep answering me with dumb questions like "What do YOU think is the problem? or What do YOU think you did wrong?" I gave up asking him for help and went directly to the TA's. AVOID PLEASE! save yourself! >_<

Take this Class!!! best ever, i passed it and i hardly did anything except study 1 hour for the tests, never did the hw, chill teacher, also im horrible at math, trust me, i had it hard, but this teacher is easy to cheat off of, cause he never pays attention, so bust out those calculators! also he simply doesnt care.

Excellent math professor. He is very clear in his lectures and I passed his class easily by turning in all my homework (which isn't alot), but turn it in WAY before he starts lecturing because he counts it as late and will put you on the spot if you try to turn it in to his TA's. His exams are very easy but make sure you study for his final.

One of the best math teachers! I haven't had a good math teacher that can make anything that deals with numbers very understandable and clear until i took him..highly recommmended...i dont know why those other people didnt like him..dont believe them tho he really is a good teacher
