Great professor. Tough grader. I am not sure why anyone said that if you didn't agree with his views, you didn't get a good grade-- I took his class, and I have no idea what his views even are. I think that if you had a good essay format then you were okay. I liked the class. It was challenging, but I still earned an A.

I think Mr Kent had good intentions, yet, he was all over the place, as far as his topics. Noone could keep up with what he was speaking on. He was very unfair when it came to grades. Also when the class started at the beginning of the semester, there had t be about 40+ students. By mid semester there was maybe 5 or 6. That says enough.

Likes to debate and if he doesn't like your subject matter on a certian paper/disagrees with your view, you will get a lower grade than you may deserve. I had an A- in his class until right at the end when he decided that he didn't like the subject of my research paper and gave me a C+ on it even though other proffesors thought it was an A paper.

being a good writer gets you the grade, not agreeing with his views as others have stated. very easy grading. just try to keep up with the work due. doesn't quite fill the three hour class. so bring other nonchalant homework or a book.

A solid class! He kept his lectures fresh and engaging. He was very clear and straight to the point on topics and he loves answering questions and helping you out. Be careful if your view opposes his because he tends to debate. He grades strictly, but gives extra credit work. I HATED English, but he helped me get better at it. Thanks, Dr. K!

This guy is an all out bleeding heart liberal! If you dare to disagree with this man, your grades will most likely suffer. He's nice enough, but if you call him on the carpet for anything, you'll soon see subtle changes. This class was very boring

I didn't like him. I made the mistake of sitting up front. He is boring and the guy has terrible hygiene. If you want a good grade you need to be on top of all the assignments and agree with his opinions.

looking forward to critical thinking class/ writing essays,until I met DOCTOR Kent.extremely nice guy,if you agree with his political views.Doesnt seem to know how to run a 3 hour class.Grades very easy/good essay critique(agree with him=get A).Think he is more apt to teach gradeschool.class feels like a waste of time.bring a book to fight boredom.

Okay-first of all if you aren't not a liberal-you probably won't enjoy this class-as I'm very conservative and all we do is pretty much argue the two sides in a round aobut way. The good thing is he is totally easy which is the only reason I've stayed. But all in all he hasn't a clue. This guy believes in globalization-please~take him, but be ready for some heated debates in class-and a little note-he's always right-no point in trying to make your stance-if goes against him

He is VERY one-sided. From what I saw, if you dont agree with his opinion then you are wrong. He only grades your essay easy if your opinion is the same as his. The first essay I did I had a different opinion than his & I got a C. After that I wrote my essays to fit HIS opinion and I got ALL As and Bs.

I would tell people to take his course his a easy teacher I passed with an B+,but when I took the in class essay with no time to prepare I got a "C". My advise would be just to keep up with the essay that are due.
