GRIEF AND LOSS was a great class. She is a hands-on, on-line Professer. You must cite your work- very important in the on-line participation to get a high mark. A great class, I learned so much. I would take her again, but she only teaches this one class. Go for it! This was my first semester in 30 years and I got an A in this class.

Had hardly any interaction, hardly any assignments (was online course) each module would either be a decent papers and readings or discussions with readings. So assignment wise it was great (from an adult learners eye) but participation, help, and clarification are not there.

Comment:

Online Grief and loss course at Empire State College. There is a lot of reading and she expects discussion post to be substantial. Grades papers fairly fast and provides input that I think is sometimes harsh, although not demeaning, on her feedback to papers. Expects numerous citations from outside and textbook sources. It was a rewarding class.

Awesome teacher. Cares about her students. Great person to go to for advice (she's a therapist as well as a teacher). Books are thought provoking, she stresses individual thinking and speaking. She's pretty young herself so she can sometimes be peppy or be a total b****, but she'll tell everyone that :). Best Project Ren. teacher there is.

* Project Renaissance * The reason why Project Renaissance has such an excellent reputation amongst students. Engaging, down-to-earth, and extremely kind. Perfect for freshmen, as she is keenly aware of students' emotional states and will offer incredibly useful advice on college life. Classes are beneficial group therapy sessions. Unforgettable!

Michelle is so nice to us. She makes it worth getting out of bed by 10:15. She lets us voice our opinions and actually listens to what we say. She is a very cool professor!
