This was one of the greatest classes I have ever taken. Dr. Clemens is super engaged in the subjects he teaches and his multimedia way of introducing concepts to people guaranties that regardless of learning style that you will understand what he is talking about. Awesome class, awesome prof.

Seemed like the best choice for my last Gen Ed, however the difficulty was much more than any other Gen Ed I've taken so far. 3 Essay tests like previously mentioned, however a very tough grader. Ended up with a B, felt the effort I put in deserved an A. Take with caution.

As others have noted, this class is definitely not an easy Gen Ed. However, if you skim the reading and go to class everyday it is extremely easy to get an A. I didn't read that carefully and I got a 91 and 98 on the first two tests. Just a friendly hint- he likes when you put information that he didn't go over in class in your papers!!

I was really excited to take the witchcraft class. It was interesting but school has a way of making things boring. Grade is based on 3 exams, all essay and identification terms. He is a tough grader, but he gives you the questions in advance so you can plan what to write. Hard to get an A. Overall I would recommend this over other MC:LIH options.

You would think Witchcraft and Magic would be interesting and not very hard, but that's not the case. This class involved so much reading it was ridiculous. Majority of the readings aren't interesting and are long so they take a while. There are three tests, all essay. Need to put in a decent amount of effort for the grade you want.

Dr. Clemens is an amazing professor. His class on the Reformation was one of the best I have taken at ISU. He is incredibly knowledgeable about his subject area and shows a serious concern about his students. He made this class fun to attend. If you are a history major and do not take Dr. Clemens at some time you are missing out.

This guy is hysterical. You laugh at least once during the class. Lectures could be boring at times but he tried making them interesting. The quizzes and attendance points are what will save your grade in the end. Otherwise you have three other papers to write that need to be 2-5 pages and you have plenty of time to finish them. TAKE HOME FINAL

Hilarious! Self-depricating humor. I had him for a class about the Protestant Reformation. Heavy material, but he was an extraordinary lecturer. He made it fun.
