i got astute advice,references, explanations and encouragement from n.f., and grew a lot in APPRECIATION of what ART and artists are about, not just working on SKILLS. I feel better about my studio work as a result, and am able to EXPRESS better by following subtle GUIDANCE.

Neil Fiertel is the best prof i have ever had! No one has come close to him in intellect , and i am very disappoined in this last comment , tsk tsk. This is university , not kindergarten, or sci 10 ! If you are paying money to go to post secondary , and don't want to learn...well that makes no sense at all! Good job Neil, i wish you the best.

Mr. Fiertel was a brilliant and interesting teacher and through his words,critiques and his art, he inspired his students. A few comments I read on his ratings page were bizarre to say the least. I will never forget him.

A relaxed, supportive professor. He is more than willing to provide constructive criticism when asked or obviously needed. Otherwise he is more than glad to let you work and experiment within the constraints of the course.

I find Neil to be open and honest. He does not babysit you like many art teachers do, and he only gives you help during critiques and when and if you ask. He is not full of nonsense and he speaks from his heart giving open and honest constructive advice. I think as a teacher he is very effective, as he is one of the best I have ever had!
