Comment:

Possibly the worst teaching experience I've had at the University of Waterloo. Professor Basir's apathy towards the quality of his teaching is clear. The lectures and course materials were of a very poor quality making individual study and completing assignments painfully tedious and frustrating.

This professor is an embarrassment to the university. It is obvious that he puts no effort into teaching. Literally everything was copied from various other institutions, from the lectures slides, to the assignments, to the exams. Everything is so disorganized and it ends up creating am unrealistic amount of work load for the students.

This prof put ZERO effort into the course. He holds no office hours, doesn't respond to emails, his materials are a mess. I have no doubt that he's a brilliant researcher, but I would probably rank him as the worst prof I've ever had in this program. The course itself is very interesting and not that difficult.

If only you can policy 71 a 'professor'. Literally copied the midterm from a previous midterm (that many didnt know about). Copied assignments from another university. Lecture materials are abysmal at best. I took this course because of the intersting materia,l but if I had to do it all over again, I would do a quick 180 and never look back...

Patience, respect to students, quality teaching, these are some qualities that Mr Basir certainly lack. All lecture material is put together by copy and paste, ridiculously redundant assignment, none existing course management and the list kept on going., and yes , Mr Basir put his business at highest pior at the cost of nearly 200 students.

I've read this prof's ratings, and I suspect many aren't actually made by his students. They're totally out of line with what all of my class thinks of this prof. His lectures are dull. His assignments are unrealistically long. I think he's a great president at IMS, but he's not a great prof. Stick to business, Professor. It's what you're good at.
