Comment:
Professor Randolph's class is pretty fun and easy, but don't get caught off guard by his simple study questions, the test questions can get really confusing. A lot of people came into the first midterm expecting easy A's but left with B's and C's. Know your material and more. Definitely know how to calculate allele frequencies and all that.

Pat is the BEST professor I've had in Davis so far. His lectures are informative, yet concise. His exams are fair and come from lecture materials. He posts podcasts, lecture slides, practice exams, and study guides. He's such a funny and laid back man and I would take another class with him if I could. 11/10 recommend!

Pat's a dope guy. Funny in lecture and keeps things entertaining, made me excited to go to class. Podcasts all of his lectures but gives extra credit occasionally only to those in class. His study guides are great and he prepares you well for the test, know all they key concepts from lectures and you'll be fine.

Pat randolph was a all around great teacher. His material is straightforward from the lecture slides, he helps in OH if you need, and he's a boy. Let us out early on fridays a few times. He offers a few points extra credit in lecture and since he grades on points(no curve) they help, so try and go especially before tests. 10/10 would recommend

One of best profs I've had at UCD. He's funny, his lectures are clear and not dry. He is very well organized so notes and podcasts are all labeled. His study questions are SO helpful this is great for studying. He posts the answers a few days after so you can challenge yourself. Go to class, sometimes he gives extra credit questions to those who go.

As long as you attend the review lectures, take practice tests, and somewhat understand the material you'll pass. Do a little more and you'll get an A

Probably the best possible professor for BIS 2B. Pat's lectures are clear and precise enough to actually understand concepts. His tests are not bad at all so an A is super manageable in this class, as long as you do well in the lab portion. However, the class is not curved so you don't have room to mess up. Overall would highly recommend!

Easily one of the best professor on campus, enuf said as evident by other ratings. Precise and clear on lecture. Test wasn't that bad, an A is manageable if you work hard for it. Funny dude and great lecture (I never fall asleep in his lecture).

Pat is amazing!! Hardly anyone ever showed up to class but I think that was because it was 9am and he podcasts all his lectures and posts slides. Enthusiastic and seems to genuinely want us to learn and do well. He gives study questions for the tests and reviews in class. Overall one of the best professors I've had wish I could take 2C with him!

Pat is probably my favorite professor thus far at Davis. His lectures are great, he's a funny guy, and his tests didn't throw any curve balls at you. He told you what you needed to know and that's exactly what showed up. Would definitely recommend! He podcasts too which helped a lot!

Lemme just say that Randolph is one of the most adorable professors I have had- his enthusiasm for the course made his 9 ams totally worth it. His lectures are clear and sometimes have videos embedded in them. Podcasts and slides are posted online, but go to class. Practice tests are just like the real exams, which are super fair.

Best decision I've ever made in my life: take summer session with him. You will not regret it. He is clear, organized, teach you the necessary things for exam, super helpful study question. He's usually the head TA in the year so he knows a lot about lab -> integrate lecture and lab. He's so down to earth, dorky and cool! BEST PROFESSOR IN DAVIS

One of the best professors I've had so far. Had him for SS1 2013 and kept everything simple and organized. Study questions are very helpful. In BIS 2A with Britt, I had to decipher each disorganized lecture with the book. In BIS 2B with Pat, I didn't even open the book :) Lecture and lab kind of complement each other. Wish he taught BIS 2C!

Took him for SSI 2012. Normally a TA during normal school year. Summer Session moves fast, but he did a really good job with organization and clarity. Don't need the textbook at all. Easy to get an A just by attending lectures and participating in lab. Do his study questions, helps a lot.

Excellent professor. There was a TON of material to learn during Summer Session I, but he did a great job teaching the material in a very crystal clear manner. Again, textbook is not used often as it is a lecture-based class. There is no curving in this class at all, but the class and material is easy enough for almost everybody to get an A or B.
