Comment:
Dr. Beaulieu is very smart and great at Calculus, but really her only style of teaching is yelling. When anyone asks a question, she yells the same thing like her students are 5 years old. She expects you to read the textbook thoroughly which is fair, but she grades tests way too harshly, and the homework on Wiley is rarely relevant to the exam.

This class was honestly not that bad. While this is still a college Calc class, I truly feel like Dr. Beaulieu was a great teacher and wasn't too hard. The first month will be the hardest, but after that, you learn a lot and I feel the class was very fair. The tests were not that bad, and all in all the grading was honest.

Comment:
Dr. Beaulieu is not a terrible professor; however, if this is your first time taking calculus, it will be tough. The problem with her lectures is that she only has one way of explaining everything. If you ask her to explain it again, she gives the exact same thing as before. Very hard to learn in that class, but the tests are straight-forward.

Comment:
Dr. Beaulieu was amazing to have for lectures, as she teaches in a way that makes the math very easy to understand and pay attention to. The only issue was how hard she graded her 4 tests. One missed step in a problem, even with the correct answer, could mean you lose half credit for the problem. Otherwise, very heavy on homework and very fast.

Don't get me wrong, Prof. Beaulieu knows her stuff. I had her 1:00 calc 1 class and it seemed like the majority of people who passed had already taken calc in High School. Her lectures were o.k, but she skimped on working through problems and pointing out the more important methods to solve problems and lecture didn't reflect test material.

Dr. Beaulieu is the sweetest lady except she's not so sweet when it comes to making & grading test. I never finished a class with anything lower than a B and I went to class, did my homework, & went to tutoring to still fail. She explains the theories behind the problem more than examples. Out of 36, only 2 were exempt from the final(an A in class)

Dr. Beaulieu is a nice lady and she means well, but often spends a lot of time explaining the problem rather than actually showing you how to solve the it. Doesn't show many examples in class, and her tutoring sessions are the simplest forms of what you learn in class/what will be on the test. Possible to make an A, just have to work hard for it.

ULL puts their best math professors in the early time slots, and Mrs. Beaulieu was in the 1pm slot, if that gives you any indication of her abilities. The online homework is often unrelated to the lecture, but vital nonetheless. This semester, she thought we were a week ahead, but we were actually behind so we took tests faster than she could teach

Tests are far more difficult than what is taught in class. Whatever you learn in class, the hardest version of that will be on the test. She really makes you work for your grade.

I thought Dr. Beaulieu was nice, but I would not take her again. I love math, but I was unable to learn much in her class. She did a maximum of one example per problem, and the problems on the tests were nothing near how she taught them in class. I did a lot of outside work, but there were still problems we had never covered on the test.

SPECIFIC TO CALC2: Always do Wiley the day she posts, she'll randomly decide to put it at 8 or 11 on Sunday and not specify which half the time. Also don't bother asking about Study Guides, or what will be on tests (her response will either be "I haven't even thought of it yet" or "I have my other classes to worry about" the day before the test)

Do not take her! Please listen to me. I am a 4.0 student. I have made A's throughout college and still am, but this teacher ruined it all for me. Her tests are no where near what she teaches. I've done every problem in the book and can achieve the correct answer. I made a C in her class. What a disappointment! She just wants to prove you are wrong.

I'm pretty good at math. I honestly studied this class material for hours and still had difficulty with the tests. In class, problems are simple and straightforward, test are nothing like she's reviewed. I wouldn't say she's bad but would NOT take with another major course.

Not the worst teacher I've ever had, but not good. This wouldn't matter so much if she didn't grade incredibly hard on tests that are hard to begin with. Think you showed enough work? Think again. You'll get points off and not even know it, because she doesn't indicate how much things are worth. Gives practice probs, but not answers. $100+ wiley

Dr. Beaulieu is definitely an acquired taste. She really does care about her students but she is not the professor to hand out any help with grades. Attending her class every day is a must. Her tests are really tough. They are extremely long and work intensive so you must know the material to a T. But she is a great teacher.

She said that her final exam would be made up of problems from her tests during the semester. Not even half the problems came from her tests she was deceptive. On exam 4 she said there would be no spherical integrals... Well guess what there were 2. "I don't remember saying that" she says. Avoid at all costs!!!

Instructor was unclear, we went over material multiple times in different classes, highly unorganized, procrastinator, scattered brained made her difficult to follow. Steer clear of this instructor unless you are really, really, really good at math. Otherwise don't touch her with a 10 foot pole.

She was slow and all over the place, but the tests were not difficult. Pulled problems we worked in class and off ALEKS. If she sees that you are trying she will help you out a lot.
