Tansky is one of the best Profs i have ever had, University of Michigan included. Go to class and listen to what he has to say and i promise you will learn. He knows what he is talking about. To those who have given him negative feedback, there is probably a reason you are at SC4 and struggling...

It is a sad day indeed. Professor Tansky has retired. He was one of the toughest, most time demanding teacher I have ever had the honor of taking. He is a genius and he will be sadly missed by those that actually want to be challanged and truly learn. I am grateful to have been able to learn from the best.

Extremely smart man, most of the bad ratings on here are from the students that don't like to work. Put in the effort and this class will do wonders for you.

Not easy to follow, and very difficult to keep up with in class. Do not sit in the back of the class if you don't want him calling on you for an answer to one of his random questions. Also listen for his famous "By column on the back" quote.

Prof. Tansky is one of the smartest people I have ever met. You MUST put 150% effort into his class if you want to gain from it. He has a wealth of knowledge to teach you, but he can be tough to understand at first. The time you invest into his class has a direct correlation to your grade as well as what you get out of the class. It's worth it!

He is a pretty cool guy and super super successful in what he does. Teaching however he can be slightly random and confusing. lectures aren't too bad, quizzes are the same exact ones as in the study-guide and the tests are a lot of terms. all i did to study for exams was the flashcard app. on the book's website and got decent grades.

Nice guy, like him well enough, but teaches SO biased and so incorrectly its disgusting. Shoves his view point down your throat and if you don't agree with 'his' type of economics you stand no chance. The only reason i will take him again, is bc no one else teaches econ and i need it to graduate. HARD teacher, and biased. wouldn't suggest

He will scan over what is in the book. Read the chapters before class and make notes of any questions you might have and ASK QUESTIONS IN CLASS! If no one asks, he will assume you all understand the material. Buy the study guide AND USE IT! Keep up to date on the economic indicators so you have 5-7 of them ready for tests.

If you have any other option, take it. This class was living hell. Also, the words "by column on the back will strike fear into your heart". Pay attention in class for quizes and essay questions; the tests and exam are all book. Good luck

Mr. Tanksy, is very difficult to follow. Don't sit in the back of the room b/c you will be writing on the chalk board. Listen for "by column on the back". Quizzes and exams come from the study guide, review it and should do fine in class.

You have to pay attention in his class (he know when your not and he'll call on you). READ THE BOOK! He may seem intimidating but really he's not. He knows business, so listen to him.

Read the book BEFORE class, and AGAIN after class and USE THE STUDY GUIDE. Then use your own brain to apply what you are supposed to be learning. Tests are graded on curve; quizzes during each class, he drops 2 of the lowest scores. Enjoy the essay questions, you can gain extra points on essays. Don't be intimidated by him, he wants you to learn!

I can't believe people cry over this man. Wait until you get to a university where you HAVE to read for EVERY class and actually STUDY. Stop blaming him and try studying the book. Oh, and get educated. I'm just finishing with a major in Econ/Accounting. I study a week for one exam. Didn't even spend two days reading the whole book in Tanskys, 4.0.

First off, he is a very intelligent person. Second, he is the worse professor I ever have had and I passed with an A-! He doesn't teach you anything. He gets way more praise than what he deserves! Like I said, he himself is very smart but as a professor he lacks the skills needed to teach. Lay off the "...by column in the back..!"

This professor sucks. I took this class online and he was horrible. He receives too much praise from this college. It is surely time for this egg-timer to RETIRE.
