Terrible teacher. He does not explain the problems at all and when you ask he just repeats everything he said before. He also goes very fast and does not slow down. It's hard to understand him most of the time too. I passed but only because the tests were multiple choice and the homework was online.

I love him! He's just a sweet little old German guy. He's friendly and always willing to help! He's always in the math lab to help you study before tests and will help you during class. All you have to do is ask. Take him!

OMG...H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E!!!! If you can avoid taking this man's class in any way possible...avoid it like the plague. He is completely unhelpful, rude, arrogant, and just...useless. I don't understand why he is still teaching.

Fanselau is a lot ruder in 106 than 105, and a lot less patient. If you do your online homework on time and don't wait till the last minute, that will be enough to pass you with a C.

I was in the class because I am horrible at math...and I still am. He does not actually teach the class-he puts problems on the board and the the answers...he does not work them. I learned more using course compass. I eventually just stopped going because it was pointless. He should not be teaching...

He is one of the sweetest professors. All he wants to do is help you and he's always there to greet you with a smile. Although a sweet man, he is getting on up there and is sometimes hard to understand and often gets confused. Don't be afraid to correct him. He will just apologize and move on.

I'm decent at Math, and this class was an easy A. But, if someone who has a lot of trouble with Math took him, then I'm not sure how easy it would be because the few times I did go to class resulted in some confusion over what he was trying to say. He's a nice guy-willing to help students, but he's not very good at explaining the concepts clearly.

He is a good enough teacher...you just have to actually pay attention in class. Half the things that are taught are things from highschool. A lot of the times people sit there and talk throughout the whole class and miss important stuff. He's very willing to help you in any way that he can, and he's a nice man.

he needs to retire seriously. he does not teach at all and that is what he is getting paid to do.you are basically teaching yourself which is totally crazy. and then when u question him he looks at you like u are the blame for failing yet he doesnt teach like he is supposed to..avoid him like the plague!!!

I had him for 105 and really liked him as a teacher but for 106 he is a lot less helpful this time around. If you ask him questions he will try and help but doesnt understand when you dont get something and might berate you a bit and that can get irritating. But he really cares about his students!

I am horrible in math, however, after getting used to his accent, he is a wonderful instructor. He wants you to be able to apply what you learn, and takes the time to help those that want to do well. He will prepare you well for the tests.

Instructor Roland is an extremely friendly and nice man. At first he seems intimidating but after a few weeks his true sense of humor comes out and you find that he is easy to talk to. Math 106 is set up by the math department he has no control over test set up or homework but he will help your grade out if you just talk to him

I would say that Mr. Fanselau is more of an instructor than a teacher. Basically, he just goes through the examples in the textbook. Everything in his class can be done just by studying the textbook and doing the online homework. I would recommend him, though, since attendance isn't mandatory and he usually lets out class 20-30 minutes early.

He is not a good teacher. He's old and slow. All he does is comes to class with the Examples in the book and writes them on the board and then your done. He doesn't take attenance so skippin every day is very tempting... cuz i did it! all you have to to is homework online and take the test.

Although hard to understand at times he is actually a pretty good teacher. His tests are fair and grading structure advantageous. He is helpful to a point and it's time to move on. So if your slow see him after class-he will help.
