Comment:

He teaches straight out of the book but the book can be confusing if you don't understand the material. If you have the book, use the CD thats included to review for the tests. I am terrible at math but the CD helped me get As on exams. Do all the hw, the questions on the quizzes are from the hw and quizzes are open notes so do the hw.

Comment:

He is a really good professor and very helpful. He will answer all the questions you have. His lectures are clear and he does not check for homework, but the quiz questions are form the homework, which are open notes. I recommend him. Set in front since he had a bit low voice.

I wasn't a big fan of math until I took Bowman. He takes his time in his teaching, and answers any question a student has. I wish he taught all of my future math classes. Would definitely love to have him again.

Professor Bowman is one off the best teachers anyone could ask for.He is very organized and always there to answer your questions. De Anza is lucky to have him! Do your homework and not only you will get a good grade but you will actually learn math! wish he could teach more classes. Truly wonderful teacher and very respectful human-being.

Comment:

The only problem I had with this class was that I had a hard time hearing him even though I sat in a front row! I got very frustrated and dropped the class because I couldn't learn that way. Many of the students in this class were very rude and talked a lot and he didn't say anything. He is very dedicated to his class and he is also very nice!

Although he is aged, he is very nice and willing to help. Take his class if you want an A. All exams and final are multiple choice. For the final you can use a page of note. Quiz are the exact same problem from hw. Drop lowest quiz and replace the lowest exam score by final.

He's an easy A! You have 3 midterms. The lowest midterm score will be replace by your final score, if you score higher. 2 out of 10 quizzes will be dropped. You can use notes during the quizzes. All the quiz & exam questions are from the homework & text book! Do the work and you'll pass with an A+ for sure.

Getting a tutor and the solutions manual helped. He is quiet so sit up front if you can't hear well. Do the hw then the quizzes are just free points b/c he lets you use it on the quizzes. I don't get his point system. I got A's on exams, got perfect scores on quizzes, the final I bombed (got a C) Got a B in the class. I went to every class session.

He's great! Take him if there's no other professors available. He's soo easy! Homework are optional; although, quizzes are base on homework assignments. AND IT'S OPEN NOTES! I think throughout the quarter, there are 12 quizzes, but at the end of the quarter, he will eliminates two of your lowest quizzes scores! Plus one cheatsheet for the final!

Boring, monotonous and low voice. He doesn't collect homework, which I think work against me because he bases he grades completely off quizzes and exams, which are CLOSED NOTES. Extremely strict, will not give you credit even if you get the answer right if you don't show a step or two on your work.

Loved him! A lil boring (think nice grandpa) but a very good teacher! Homework not collected. Open Note Quizzes almost daily, Questions directly from the homework. Do it & get 100% on quizzes. 3 tests. Final's a bit tough but you can use 1 sheet of notes. Struggled thru Math210 with another teacher & got a C and got an A in this class pretty easily

I wish I had this professor teach every math course I will have to complete in the future. He's very much down to business and allows no distractions in class. The way it should be! He is dry at times but his teaching method is the most efficient I've ever come across because he's fair and by the book.

he's very boring and his tone is soft. i sit in the front row to hear him. he gives out homework but does not collect them, instead, he gives out quizes to see if you do the homework. if prefer it the other way around. His exams are mulitple choice but you still have to do the work to get points for the answer. He teaches ok but grades pretty hard.

boaring teacher, puts me to sleep, but he knows what he is talking about and he makes work that I learned in high school seem easy (even the work I didnt understand then) I would recommend. if you just want to learn. all the quizzes are from the homework. so make sure you do your homework...he doesnt collect the homework

hard to hear him talk... very very very boring class...put syou to sleep, attendance is a must!!! do not miss more than 3 classes... he will kick you out even if you come to class a minute late... 12 quiz...one every week, 3 midterms, 1 final...quiz directly from homework so are all the problems for the midterm... take it if you want a boring class
