This was my favourite class I have ever taken. Dr. Brown gives clear and concise notes during his lectures, and his exams are all very straightforward. His anecdotes and stories during the lectures make it easy to remember the material! Very sad to hear he is moving on from teaching at Douglas College.

I really liked Ron's class. It definitely was not easy, but I learned so much from him. He might not seem very friendly but if you go to him for help he is actually really nice. There was an essay proposal, a literature review, and then the final paper to write.

Honestly the easiest course I have ever taken. Ron is a funny guy. His lectures can be boring and dry, his tests are pretty easy and straight forward. I opened the textbook once. All it takes to do well is show up and pay attention.

When I first started class I thought Ron was a bad teacher. I was very wrong. He is very passionate about sociology, and provides good examples. I actually felt like I learnt something in his class. 3 hour lecture can be a bit long though so would recommend his 2 hour classes.

Ron is great teacher. He is passionate about what he did. I felt sorry for him though, because he is of a much older generation than his students (and he is dealing with some students who have no respect for elders). I learnt a lot from his class and did rather well on his exams.

He's alright. Basically you have 3 tests that are pretty easy to wing if you know anything about gender roles and things like that. I didn't read the text book at all... And then you have 3 essay things... 1000 words on your topic, 1000 word lit review, 2500 essay.. kinda sucks doing the first 2 parts. He teaches well thou and marks fairly

Ron is such a great prof! He is very nice and friendly, really wants to "get through" to you. Ron is very knowledgeable and classes are interesting. Come to class, pay attention and take notes and you will do well. Very enjoyable class and I feel like I took a lot out of it, despite how easy it was. I Highly reccomend taking a class with him!

Really interesting class. Textbook however is extrememly dry, and full of stastics and figures... so just skim through it before a test. Take notes in class because they will appear on the tests which are short answers and an essay. Good Prof, always helpful and understanding.

Very knowledgeable about the subject. Tests are easy and he is a very fair/easy marker. His choice in text is interesting as it looks at global issues from a world wide prospective and supplements canadian content. This class is very easy to get a good mark, despite the ease of the class i feel i learned a great deal. would take another class

Pretty good prof. Knows a lot about canadian society and is available much of the time for help. His test are quite easy and don't require a lot of studying. One thing to note, take the time to choose a good research topic because your going to write 3 papers on it. make sure you find good sources, ron owns all the books in regards to gender issues
