Comment:

I took his online human bio class. He has no pity for anyone who misses assignments. He is very specific with his deadlines, but didn't appear to deem it necessary to give out discussion board closing dates. So if you miss one, your out of luck. I emailed him a few times and received very brief responses. I felt like I wasn't worth his time.

Mr carvin is a great professor. He like when his students study hard and also when they show great interest. He is extremely difficult but that's just so his students will be better prepared when the transfer on to a four year school. I greatly appreciate his efforts because it has made me into a better student

He is a hard teacher no question about it. He will try to scare you off at the beginning of the semester, and that is all just a show he wants you to think that he is the scariest man on the earth. But, on the inside he is so kind and such a sarcastic man. So don't let all of these negative comments make you think he is a demon, he's not.

The best teacher I've come across at Herkimer. Prepares his students better than any other. Make sure you're putting in AT LEAST 7-10 hours of studying a week for this course.Put in the work and you'll be rewarded.

Honestly, I would have dropped the course if it hadn't been for the wasted money thing. After first exam, I knew that no matter how much work I put into the exams, I would not get a 100 or an A in the course. Know why you've chosen the answer & ask him questions. Won't get your grade changed, but he'll know you're trying. He's tough, but kind.

Where to start? Carvin is a heartless man. Clearly doesn't care at all about his students, or whether they do well or not. About 50 or 60 students started out the semester and I think only about 20 of us took the final. That should give you just a small idea of how his class is. I wish there was another teacher for Science majors.

Ron Carvin is a lot of things. A father, a lover, a husband, and yes, a teacher above all. He will guide you on a journey like nothing you could ever imagine. It will bring to life your wildest dreams. He has a rough exterior, but inside he is molten lava, all nice and warm/gooey. He loves his students, don't be fooled, he's a lover, not a fighter.

very unfair, not a teacher that wants you to pass at all, totally obnoxiously sarcastic every minute of the class...DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, HE WILL EVEN TELL YOU HIMSELF ON THE FIRST DAY THAT YOU WILL NOT PASS IT!!!...to be honest, there's no reasoning with him, just trust me and find a differant professor!

This teacher enjoys failing students. I can understand becoming jaded by the profession but a teacher should still appreciate when someone is working hard and giving their best effort. He does not care how hard you work and obviously relishes in doling out low grades. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!

i took carvin's bio class on campus, he was super strict with attendance and wouldn't let you in once he closed the door (so make sure you're there ON TIME). his lectures are boring and the labs are much easir than he makes them out to be. but his tests are very hard. get a study partner for this class.

i like him...hes a great guy overall, but some of his tests are a little stupid making all multiple chioce and having some answers in the same questions right and having to select the most correct choice....overall though a great teacher and knows exactlly what he is talking about while giving his lectures
