Comment:

Prof Hafez is one of the best prof in Carleton. He makes the course objectives clear. Assignments are fair as long as you put efforts on them. Labs takes time to complete and be ready to spend hours for that. Final exam was easy, work on examples and assignments you will do well in the final.

Comment:

Prof. Roshdy Hafez is very helpful and intelligent professor. He is always available outside his office hours and answers to emails in a short time. He helps you more than your expectations throughout the course and you will learn a lot from him if you regularly attends his lectures. He is very linear in grades though questions in exam are tricky.

I am surprised that a lot of student do not like Prof. Hafez. He is a very knowledgeable man with industry experience. He followed his own way of teaching this course and I found it easier. Labs were basically free marks, Assignments and midterm were tough but final exam was easy. I would definitely recommend him for a friend.

amazing prof, extremely helpful..understands what he's teaching, doesn't complicate things ..attend his classes and take notes.. ure set for the exam..midterms may have some challenging problems but the final is extremly fair ...

If you have the option, take Chan. Had him in summer for Comm. Theory. He blazes over the notes and expects you have a solid understanding of all new material immediatly. Non-energetic, half-asses most of his lectures. His notes are mediocre. He seems genuinely disinterested and does not understand how a concentrated course should be taught.

SYSC2500. His did not have many assignments or labs, but he blindly made the labs and assignment hard. Students should do the basic things before they can attack harder concepts. That course almost made me loss interst in my field.

Depends what course you have him for. He's pretty bad at teaching 2500, but its tough to explain teh material. Forget taking notes in class - it's impossible - he jumps from spot to spot on the board. If you even look down for minute, you're lost.
