This class is bad. It's also mandatory . I feel bad for you if you have to take it . One word is all you need to describe Mr Iverson : Delusional. Have fun.

Most undergraduate engineering students have no vision, nor cares to gain one. They simply want to take a class, be told what to do, pass, go get a job, and live a basic life. If you are them, then this is not the class for you. Dr. Iverson is a project prof. If you have any type of entrepreneurial project you are working on, he will help create it

It really is unfortunate that this is a required class. If it wasn't, I would recommend not taking it. There is no educational value to this course. Literally a complete waste of time and money. Don't buy the text because Iverson's writing is thoroughly confusing.

Seems like a nice man but he is a completely ineffective teacher. I firmly believe that he is out of touch with reality. His "real world" examples usually just turn into imaginative ramblings.

Completely ineffective at teaching the topic of Technology in society. Has been teaching too long to be truly be connected with real engineering issues. Easy marker. You get out what you put in, don't expect him to actually teach you anything. Course pack and required text are overly wordy and academic, not useful at all.

Iverson and his classes are a nice change from the usual mech courses. Interesting content taught by someone who cares. He DOES ask students to participate in class, ask questions etc. Most of the complaints I hear about him are from those students who just want the easiest way out. You really will get out what you put into this class.

Worst prof in history. This guys just likes to talk about his monorails. He never has a point and is surprisingly dumb for a guy that has many PhD's.

what a waste of a class, Iverson cannont teach at all. He fails to connect with students and everyone ends up hating him by the end of the course. ohh you like surverys, what about a survey about how students feel about your class...ohh you wont actually use the results of that survey... then what the hell are you teaching.

Useless - that pretty much sums up everything about this course. He talks about material not covered in the book, doesn't give handouts for said material in class, but leaves them hiding in his office without telling anyone, gives the class a term project without any sketch of a guideline or criteria! Useless!

Iverson's a good guy who does his best at teaching a group of generally unresponsive students who get frustrated when asked to think for themselves, come up with an original idea or even compose a sentence. You'll get out what you put into his classes.

Nice man, stuck teaching a class no-one takes seriously. The class would be interesting, if people quit whining and put some effort into it. This is a class where all the worst engineering stereotypes come true.

Dr. Iverson is a spineless, depressing wuss and I hope to god I never talk or act like he does. 280 is easy, and grows increasingly pointless as the semester continues.
