Professor Sheng was great. He let me take his class as an undergrad to fulfill a neuroscience requirement in my degree. Lectures can be long (especially if on Friday), but the material itself is interesting and he always lightens the mood by throwing in jokes/comments in class. Would not recommend skipping lecture as most of the material is spoken.

His exams are fairly straight forward. If you study, you can do well in the course. The information is interesting, but I just wish we had the option to learn from someone else who is easier to listen to - he is a very kind guy though.

Sheng is very hard to listen to especially for 2 and 1/2 hours once/week. Has a very dry sense of humor but is very nice and intelligent. Upon asking he even let me do extra credit. Tests are extremely specific. Im wondering if there is a curve he didnt tell us about because I have no idea how I have an A- and final exam grades were not posted

Course was very disorganized. The prof. didn't order the book so had to get 1 online-they were back ordered for weeks. Homework was posted late sometimes a day and 1/2 before it was due. There are only 2 tests in the course (midterm and final) with the final being cumulative and 50% of your grade! Prof. often took several days to respond to email.

Like others have said, his tests are very hard but they are also straighforward. His lectures are interesting for the most part and he has a very dry sense of humor. He is very smart and knows a lot about his field.

Sheng can be really entertaining when he wants to be. I would definitely take another class with him. He's soooo knowledgeable. The tests are kind of hard, but really straightforward.
