I came into this E&M class as the only undergrad, the rest were PhD students. I'd also only taken one semester of E&M before this. Leaving the class I felt I'd learned a lifetime of knowledge. Barr moves super fast but he's extremely clear. He could explain string theory to a toddler and have them understand. By far the best professor I've ever had

Barr is an outstandingly clear professor who is very understanding of the fact that his is not the only class. His tests are challenging, but they are fair, and students who study for them should do OK (you may run out of time, but he'll adjust for that in the grading). He clearly loves teaching, which is more than can be said for most professors.

Comment:
He is clearly the best instructor in the physics department. We do not see him teaching often. He should be teaching 2 courses each semester. Excellent lecture notes, and you learn a lot. He enjoys teaching and this motivates students.
