Comment:

The class is lecture heavy and he lectures in a monotone format making one feel very bored. He does encourage one to ask questions and he seems to care about his students. Homework is given through an online website and he does assign a book but you can pass the class without it. The rest of your grade depends on 2 midterms and the final.

Comment:

He's a pretty good professor, only 2 tests and a final for the entire class. The homework is online and it gives a lot of chances if you don't get the answer the first time. This class is lecture heavy, and missing one or two is okay but if you miss too many, you may not learn a concept in the class. It's an A if you try and get it.

Comment:

Professor Breen is amazing he cares about his students passing. He will help you with anything even the online quizzes he is really good. attendance isn't mandatory but I would recommend it if you don't have a good SI because he will literally break everything down for you. Lectures aren't very interesting but it is school.

His powerpoints are actually very helpful, he goes in depth and gives us time to work on problems and then explains and he uploads them on canvas. His tests are heavy but honestly professor breen does his best to teach the material. He's a very sweet man, as long as you go to his lectures and attend office hours you will be fine.

If you are someone who struggles with math DO NOT TAKE THE CLASS! It was my first time taking stats and he expected you to know the material. His voice is very monotone and his power points have information that is not important. His exams do not match with the homework he gives online, and if you are someone who has testing anxiety do not take it

A very caring and kind man. I would recommend him to anyone. He goes at a slow enough pace that you can really understand the material. He is always there to help his students when they need him. Memorize some proofs and do the homework and an A is very possible.

10% hw, 90% professor's mid term and final, common final. Hw and practice problems help prepare for professor's mid term and final. Professor gives previous semester version of common final to review and prepare. The professor will certainly help with any questions, but only if asked. Lectures are methodical, carefully explained and presented.

Comment:

Great teacher and explains things clearly. However his tests are really hard to study for. Questions are not hard but the tests cover a lot of material. You can know the material really well but not be prepared for the exams. Class test average in the 50's. Have to memorize about 10 theorems and all associated concepts/proofs for a 6 question test.

My favorite math teacher !! I'm usually pretty bad at math but I got my first A b/c of this class ! His slides explain everything so well, he depends on the calculator which means he doesn't make you do all the extra "show your work".His tests were pretty easy as well . He is really concerned about everyone understanding the material, also he always let us out early :)

He thoroughly covers the material so you shouldn't be lost, so much so that we are most likely to not cover everything in the syllabus. He's hilarious at times and the one exam we had wasn't too difficult, hw however is time consuming but was not assigned often. Definitely a very chill professor, he cares that you understand the material.

all homework & quizzes are online. The final was made by the math department & it had nothing we had covered in class on it. He doesn't give extra credit and doesn't drop your lowest test grade. I wouldn't recommend him if you are not the greatest at math. He's a nice teacher, just wish he gave more opportunities for students to bump their grade up

Prof Breen is really really helpful!! The class has 2 midterms and a department final but all the quizzes and homework are online. his lectures can get super boring, but if you print the slides before class and follow along you'll be fine. explains everything great! Math isnt my subject but he's great. Chillest prof by far.

He is a really nice professor! Easiest Stats professor of what I could tell. Sometimes you have to teach yourself so if you are good at math you will get a good grade. Don't be afraid to take this class, if you need help he will be there to help you. Do homework and take quizzes for every chapter online, 2 midterms and a final.

This is a hybrid class. SHOW UP TO CLASS and make sure you understand what Professor Breen is talking about. He is very helpful and informative when asked, but could be very confusing during lectures. Hw and midterms are online. In class final. My advice: it's better to learn the material rather than putting so much effort to cheat for the class.

He's an easy A if you understand the hw. I understood the material by doing the hw, the lecture slides are very helpful for doing the hw. He makes stats easy and clear. Take him. But if you're not good at teaching some things to yourself then he might not be for you. Also get help when needed.

Go to class. Yeah lectures are long but most of the time he cuts class short. He's the best math teacher I have ever had. He is so clear in his lectures so everything makes sense (which is why it's important to go to class). Everything is online and you can use tests, quizzes, and hw on midtermsfinal!! Wish I would have tried harder to get an A.

Great teacher who is always in his office and willing to help. Responds to emails quickly and cares about his students. Uses online book and all homework, quizzes and mid-terms are online. Final is taken in math lab. The only bad thing is that the final is worth 40% of your great. Take this teacher and you will pass stats.

stats is pretty complex. I feel like rather than doing steps with you he just tells you what the concept is. Everything is online such as hw and lecture. OPEN BOOK test and final. I guess anyone can get an A but I found it very difficult since math is not my strength.

This guy is absolutely the BEST professor for Stats!!! He clearly explains everything and his slides also provide clear explanations of problems. Many people stopped attending class because they would just learn off of the slides he provided. He's very nice and approachable too! Take him for Stats. Trust me you'll be in good hands.
