I have taken a lot of classes at cc so when I say, this is by far the worst professor it means a lot. He will roast you in any way possible in front of the class and make you feel uncomfortable to ask any questions. His words its not my job to teach you, use the internet. Nobody thought me how to be a professor idk how he still has a job

Make sure you stay on top of things because he will not remind you of anything and won't be understanding. Make sure to do your assignments he does not give second chances on those. Make sure to study for your tests and write good notes because they are random. He expects a lot from his students and will expect you to know on your own to do things.

He has a unique sense of humor. Never gave notes, but we never had a quiz. Just kind of throws you on your own and critiques your progress. Nice and understanding at times.

I do agree to some respect that he could be crude but overall he is a great teacher. I dealt with kids that didn't do the work and wanna easy A. If you wanna work in Hollywood or make it then his the guy. He puts you in the spot, you have to know ur stuff and if your on top of it he will bend over backwards for you.

There's not enough room for me to say everything I want but do yourself a huge favor and AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS. I've never met a teacher who cared so little about their students. He's unclear, grades ridiculously hard and doesn't respect your work. He plays favorites and publicly embarrasses everyone else. WORST TEACHER IVE EVER HAD!

Lectures have valuable and complete information, in fact they are fascinating sometimes. He gives clear instructions. He offers tons of resources online. His personality could use a little polish. When not lecturing he has an out-of-patience-with-you attitude. Questions from students he either answers fully or belittles the questioner.

If your goal is to learn how to make movies, pay attention in DaVega's production class. Like any real job in life, employers look for hard-working, self-sufficient, creative people. Film production is more a test of your ability to pay attention, and do a job. For better or worse, there is no pedantic 'fundamentals' in DaVega's teaching.

Not a bad teacher- def knows what he's talking about/conveys interest and insight into the material. However 1)He thinks he's awesome. 2)He has personal space/spitting when he talks issues.

though that most people piss him, i don't, what i'm saying is being a student you better lower yourself and accept any opinion. DeVaga has a straight forward personality so he aint gentlement when yourself being a dork. otherwise, you'll love him. BTW, pay attention to his taste of film cause it may help you have a good view of the industry.

His class is structured okay but honestly he is the most annoying and pompous instructor I've ever had. He thinks he's so great/smart, etc. and he thinks he's hilarious. But his incessant jokes/talking and bad taste make his class so unpleasant. He's the incarnation of the dorky comic book/startrek kid as an adult...He's awful.

This guy is freak'n awesome man. If you're a film student, this is the class to take (especially if you're going into production). You will learn tons in his class. HOWEVER PLEASE NOTE: He rules with an Iron fist. Get on his good side by paying attention (and not being an idiot) and he'll love ya. Cross him, and he'll destroy you!

Easy class if you just follow his lectures. Good teacher if you get on his good side which isnt too hard. If you are looking to take his class to slack off and for a filler, dont. Very underappreciated teacher.

This guy is horrible. Doesn't help and is very unclair. Trust me, there are much better film teachers at city college. Devega is young guy on an ego trip--don't take his class. Go with Stinson or McPherson.
