Comment:

I took Dr. Wilson's Jazz to Rock class in the summer, and I highly recommend him! Theres a total of 10 quizzes, 2 exams, and 2 assignments. The exams are similar to the quizzes, so if you do well on the quizzes you will succeed in the class. You'll definitely need the book, it helps with the quizzes!

Comment:

Group work was a pain online, but otherwise the course was fairly easy and straightforward. Read the text, the quizzes are multiple choice and quite difficult during the jazz section. Personal projects are easy, but get a head start on the group projects. Organizing via Blackboard is dreadful. Very nice instructor, very reasonable.

Lots of work, but he is a easy grader. Quizzes on the Jazz section were extremely difficult the second half, Rock was better.

He's a very good teacher and makes the class very interesting. His tests are based half off his lectures and half from the book. All the work is done online and there is a quiz for each chapter. I never actually read the book, just attended the lectures. I still received an A and learned a lot. Its a big class but he will call you out for talking.

This guy is cool and knows what he is talking about. You only go to class once a week since everything is online but if you don't go you will likely fail the class. And don't even bother going to class if you will just sit and talk with your friends its a wate of Wilson's time as well as the rest of the class.

awesome! hes super funny and his class is easy but intresting if your going to take jazz to rock only take it with him as a professor! he just hates when people are late,try to leave early, or talk. he just sees is at disrespectful and he gets mad but other then that hes the best(:

He's really energetic! And he has these catchy ways of teaching things so they stick in your head. We also had many classes that were not mandatory, so there was a lot of opportunity in those classes for some one on one practice.

Comment:

Wilson was totally wacky, as if on a permanent caffeine high. His attitude was infectious, though, and it helped generate enthusiasm in his class (Jazz to Rock, which I found to be a piece of cake). Always hyper, but lots of fun. Enjoy.
