You don't need the book. Hes a nice guy who puts effort in his lectures its just that his grading scale is unpleasant. Study his ppt and notes. Sometimes he would give a curve and extra point. so attend the class. Exams are ppt and sometimes on quizlet.

This is one of the better professors at UH. He cares about your feedback and is willing to alter due dates as long as there is consensus with the class. His exams are easy as long as you study (duh), and he brings a humor to his lectures. He is also willing to relate the course material to real-time events.

I enjoyed Koch as a person. He was light-hearted and funny but his grading was impossible. The tests were overall easy but one screw up and you lose your A. No one I knew taking his class got an A or A-. You could have gotten a B on the exams and still not have made an A. DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

Dont need the book. Hes a nice guy who puts effort in his lectures its just that his grading scale is atrocious. He gives learning catalytics which you can find the answers on quizlet. He will sometimes give a curve ball if he feels people are using the code that arent in class. Just study the powerpoints and you should fine. This should be easier

Koch is extremely difficult in terms of making an A. Going to get my first B or B+ at UH in 6 semesters of being here. He bases the class on 90% worth of 2 exams/2 quizzes and 5% participation and 5% homework. If you dont make an A on every exam/quiz theres no way to make an A. If youre not interested in your GPA this might be the class for you.

I am a straight As student for all my semesters at UH but cannot pass this class with an A-. If you care about your GPA, DONT TAKE HIM. The worst professor in my life. You will be miserable to study for his class to pass with an A even this is an introduction class. Btw, I am major in marketing.

I'm not a Business major, but I had to take this class for my certification. I really enjoyed his lectures. Professor Koch is funny and attendance matters to get an easy participation grade. There are 2 quizzes, 2 midterms, and 1 final plus HW and participation. As long as you show up to class and read the book you should pass.

If you have never seen a professor that makes the exams 90% of your overall grade, then Koch will show you how difficult an intro to marketing could be. Take with other marketing professors where you can an easy A with little effort. This does NOT work the same for Koch!!! You can easily get a D- or D if you make 60s across your quizzes or exams

One of the toughest class I have taken so far. The grading scale is atrocious to say the least. I never thought an intro to Marketing class would be this difficult and annoying. The material itself isn't hard it is just the trick questions he likes to put on the exams. Take him if you have no other options. This class isn't easy. You've been warned

Grading system is terrible. 2 midterms and a final. Does not normally give curve. Homeworks and participation barely make a difference in final grade. Only take if hes the last prof available

Koch tries his best to make Marketing exciting but it comes off as desperate sometimes. His grading system is weird and it makes me wish he had a grade calculator to help put me in ease about my grade. Class consists of two quizzes, two midterms, a final, Pearson HW, and participation. He offers extra credit as well. Take him if you must.

Went to class on day one and never went back (except for tests and quizzes) - attendance is worth 5 points of your final grade. Tests carry a heavy weight on your final grade. You can get an A if you really study the material. Make sure to keep track of the homework due dates because it's easy to miss one (there were 19 of them).

80% of your grade leans on exams so there is no margin of error. I had to make an A on every exam to get an A in his class, so ridiculous. Honestly if you just care about passing or making a B, the class shouldn't be that difficult. However, if you plan on making an A, I am warning you it is very difficult! Terrible grading criteria, the only issue

This course is super boring and heavy, the concepts are vague, making the tests confusing. If you don't study for the tests and quizzes you will fail. Koch tries his best not to be boring, but it's hard in this class. Two "midterms", two quizzes, and a final for some stupid reason right after the second midterm. No projects or homework to buffer.

Great lectures. Funny guy. Koch is a really knowledgeable professor that has a lot of industry experience and examples to share. Great at speaking to large 300+ student classes. Online homework assignment for each chapter is easy. 2 quizzes. 2 exams. 1 final. Would definitely take any of his courses.

I loved taking this class with professor Koch. Most of his lectures were engaging and very interesting. Really just showing up to class and paying attention sets you up for success. The textbook is actually overall easy to read if you choose to. You still have to put some effort in but the material is not hard. Highly recommend him!

quizzes/tests/final 90% of your grade. HW/Participation 10%. Do the STUDY PLANS on MyMarketingLab!!! I got an A on my first quiz because I studied. Focus on anything that has steps/categories in the textbook and VOCAB, VOCAB, VOCAB. Extra credit is market research participation outside of class.

He is a good professor. If you listen to his lectures and study what he reviews then the exams will be easy. There is extra credit that gets added to the final grade. The final exam had the same questions as the past 2 midterms pooled together. Not hard to get an A.

He gives you what to study for exams and quizzes, Alot to remember and retain tho. Powerpoint slides are helpful and quizlet reviews. Tests multiple choice but answer choices are similar so makes it frustrating..
