Comment:
I can see why people would enjoy his classes, but I had a bad experience in his Modern China class. His expectations were very unclear, but he had no problem failing people. He refused to give extra credit, unless you were a foreign exchange student. As an education major, teachers who don't care if their students fail are not good teachers.

I took his climate crisis class, which was really fun. He really did want to teach this class. It takes a course or two to figure him out, but it's worth it. His IR class is very exciting. If the history department does another Pizza and Perspective, I suggest you go to see how he works.

Over all Dr. Leibo was a great professor! He was extremely helpful. Last year was my first year at Russell Sage and between the 2 semesters I took 5 classes with him. Once you learn his style of teaching, you will do fine in the class. I loved his energy in class. Most of the classes I've taken were not textbook based which made it interesting.

His classes are rather interesting if you are passionate about the material. If you aren't, his classes will be completely boring. You can teach youself the material out of the textbook, although like stated below he does tend to repeat certain things. Extra credit is given because without it a lot of ppl wouldnt pass. His classes are rather diffuc

At first Leibo can seem overwhelming and intimidating, however, if you can pick up the main themes the class relates to you will be all set (they are the same phrases he says over and over and over). And if you need help or extra credit just talk to him, he always offers extra credit which is extremely helpful.

You will probably never meet a professor who is more passionate about their subject. I don't know if he can ever retire because he cares about spreading the knowledge so much. He gives out lots of opportunities for extra credit and they help with whatever the current subject is as well.

Leibo can be a lot to take in because he has a lot of energy and throws a lot of information at you during class. you don't have to memorize everything he says but he gives a lot of examples that can be useful for the test. he's a great professor and an easy A if you do the work on time, and really it's not difficult stuff.

As an alum who took him when he was the IS program coordinator, I always found his lectures interesting, and he's very easy to get a hold of. I mean, if you can't track him down, emailing him is the easiest, and he checks it all the time. A great teacher.

about the comb-over, he has it for a legitimate reason. leave him alone about it. if you knew why he has it, you'd understand :( he's a brilliant professor, and doesn't care about his appearance as long as he's reaching your minds, and that is the most important thing! great to hear him on NPR too!

Brilliant, if not somewhat self-indulgent prof who really knows his stuff. Great material, good lectures, througholy engrossed in his subject. Just do SOMETHING about that comb-over ;)
