Extremely dull class. No need to go to class because he posts lecture outlines online. Makes you watch the most boring films/videos and openly acknowledges that they are bad. Didn't give clear instructions for the final paper and his tests have way too much on them. I was looking forward to this class but was very disappointed. Avoid his class

BORING! Most boring lectures I've ever had to sit through at KU. But attendance not required so i rarely ever went to class. And the reading isnt necessary either!

thanks goodness he isnt teaching the class any more. I would drift into lala land most days. although there were some good day they were few and far between. Two of te TA were really good the other one seemed worthless.

Wilson is rather uptight, but he knows more about WWII than most people know about their parents. His class will give you a complete understanding of the subject, but dont take it as a 'fun' class, he will make you work.

If you have an opportunity to take a class from Prof Wilson, take it. KU has a few recognized experts in their fields and Prof Wilson is one of them. He is probably the most helpful professor on campus if you get to know him.

Ted Wilson is a scholar and a gentleman. I did my M.A. in history at Kansas, and I find it impossible to believe that he demeans women. He never treated me with anything but respect. If you want to know about World War II, you could hardly do better than to take his class.

Good teacher. Good discussion sections. Work load is reasonable (200-300 pages week, one large paper, 3 reviews). Helpful outside of class. He is often in the department. If you have an interest in the topic he is teaching, no reason not to take his class.

After the midterm I realized you don't need to go to his lectures, so long as you attend discussions. He will assign about 100-150pgs of reading per week. Read enough so you are clear on the timeline and major events of WWII. Lots of info and reading

His knowledge of WWII is immense. He's a world-leading scholar on some aspects of the war. Lots of reading, lots of in depth research. I enjoyed it, but I knew alot about the subject before the class. I would recommend reading up before you take it.

He teaches fast,tons of reading,at times unclear. You better know your WWII history even BEFORE you take this course or you'll never make it. But a great course to take
