Velek is a hilarious teacher. Very easy to pay attention to his lectures. Papers were of moderate difficulty, but we got to choose which weeks we wrote papers. If you put in your best effort, he will be more helpful towards your grade than he otherwise would have.

Dr. Velek is a great teacher. His essays are difficult, but after a semester in his HIS 101 class, writing an accurate, concise account of themes in history will be second nature. My only complaints would be with other people in the class.

Dr. Velek is such a great teacher! He is very demanding, and his classes can be difficult if you don't prepare for them. He makes history fun and interesting though, and it's hard not to get caught up in his energy. Another great thing is seeing how many tangents you can get him started on. Very engaging professor.

Dr. V. is an amazing lecturer. He makes the information interesting and his jokes usually hit. However, he doesn't like to be wrong (must be the lawyer in him). He is a bit overbearing at times. Finally, and this sums it up: there is nothing like studying for a Velek test, especially a final. It is like Hell on Earth as it is very stressful.

Velek is hilarious. He knows what he's talking about and he actually makes it interesting. He also requires you to think for yourself. No cookie cutter answers. Does take a moderate bit of reading and time for essays. Still, one of the coolest professors on campus.
