Tracy was my favorite teacher at BYU this semester. She makes you work hard, but will help you become a better writer and will make you feel valued as an individual. She cares and is kind, invests in her students, and promises to help later down the road. It isn't "easy A" class, but one where you will grow and actually learn. Would recommend!

Writing 150 is one of those dreaded freshman classes, but it's not too bad with professor Jackson. You will be writing, but lectures are fun.

Worst professor I have ever taken. She seems like she is fun, but she is the worst. You will only get a good grade if you write exactly what she wants and suck up to her. She has a huge ego and always has to be right. She also is terrible about posting grades on learning suite.

Awesome teacher! She is fun, smart, and helpful. She is lots of fun, but don't expect her to hand you the grade too easy. She grades fairly. My favorite teacher of all time, and that is saying something considering that I have always struggled with writing.

She was the most amazing teacher I have ever had! Her class is hard no doubt. But she teaches the class in a way that you understand how to write at the end of it if you take advantage of the class. Get all the feedback you can from her and you will learn very useful skills. She is a top notch person on top of her teaching.

I loved this class! She genuinely cared about us and showed it. She's lot less worried about busy work and typical class conventions than about our actual learning and growth. She made me TRY, improve, and become a better writer & person. She's so willing to work with you too as long as you're trying. I was dreading wrtg 150 but this class was fine

I learned absolutely nothing in this class. Felt like a giant ego grab for her ever lecture rather than anything useful. She'd just wing lessons on being persuasive, as is she's got it all figured out. I've never had worse feedback from a teacher, she goes back and forth on what she wants you to do, and is never satisfied. Wish I could rant more.

Put the most efforts i ever have in a class to her class and not good enough for her. this isnt a first year writing class rather she grades as if a 400 class. At the end of the semester whe i asked to know how my grade was going she wouldnt say nor put it on learning suite so that was a great help (not.)

Looks appealing because you don't need textbooks, there's only one quiz all year, and she comes off easy-going and respectable. However, a majority of assignments are papers, graded harshly, without ample substantial feedback. Feelings of frustration were prevalent, if you can't write like her than apparently you can't write. Doesn't give A's.

She really didn't help me to understand how I could be a better writer. And she doesn't put in grades until the semester is over. So you have no idea what you have in the class until its over.

She tries to be the cool professor, but dont let that fool you she will destroy your life. She acts like she wants everybody to get good grades but she could not care less. She has a very specific style of writing she likes and if its not your style you will get a bad grade all semester long. But she is pretty funny.

Don't take WRTG 150 from her. Her lectures are very entertaining, but that comes at a cost. She practically gives everyone B's. She's one of those professors that believes that no one deserves to receive an A unless you're the next Ernest Hemingway. She doesn't even give rubrics for the assignments so it's a mystery what she docks you for.

I took this class on the spring term and it was a bad idea. Any writing class on the term will be insanely difficult. She doesn't put grades in the computer until the very end. She grades pretty tough on the papers, however, she gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit. You can rewrite 2 papers. There is just one grammar quiz.

Tracy Jackson seems very nice and easy-going at first, but don't let that fool you - she is an extremely tough grader. Whenever I asked for help, her answer was essentially "go look it up in the textbook". Would not recommend taking a class from her ever, especially if you want an understanding teacher who is willing to help you one-on-one.

Tracy Jackson was a great person. I didn't particularly like her as a professor. She teaches as if you already know all of the material, and for me, that is not how I learn. She goes in streaks where I really like her and when I really do not like her.

Real talk, this class had huge boring potential but Prof. Jackson made it fun and painless. At one point we needed to write a research paper in assigned groups of 4, which did seem like it was going to be a terrible experience. Turns out it was the best group experience I have ever had. She knows what she is doing and always extremely helpful.

Screw this class. She is super cool to talk to and stuff, but good luck getting an "A" in this class. For a stupid general class, she is WAY TOO up tight when it comes to grading papers. I have gotten A's in my other English classes, but NOT this one. I turned in quality stuff, and she always killed my papers. I didn't learn much either.

Great teacher. Great person. Guarantees that she will write you a letter of recommendation for grad school. Organized a fundraiser for Alexis Kaufusi (BYU women's bball, cancer) who was in our class in replace of one of our assignments. She grade's difficult but offers rewrites and extra credit.
